How do we develop a Worshipful heart?
There is an arch of praise! He goes from praising to proclaiming, to pondering, to proclaiming, to praising.
Praise God’s Salvation (1-4)
Praise God’s Salvation (1-4)
David proclaimed his trust in the God who delivers and chose to praise him.
I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.
The idea was that he shouted to God his praise. David started his worship with excitement over God’s salvation!
Start your worship with intentional praise of God for his salvation.

David remembered his desperate situation before God’s deliverance. (5-7)
David recalled God’s answer to his cry. God answered in power and might!
David related his salvation to Israel being saved from Egypt through crossing the Red Sea. (16-17)
The reason God saved David, and the reason he saves us, is His good pleasure!
He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me.
Worship God by recounting the times he has worked on your behalf in the past. Talk about them to others!

David begins to reflect upon the character of God by talking of his desire to walk in God’s ways.
For David, blessing comes from “keeping the ways of the Lord” (v22).
David was clean in God’s eyes!
And the Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight.
David has found God to be merciful. He has found God’s way to be blameless. He has discovered the purity of God. He has observed God’s dealing with the wicked.
Praise God for his attributes. Praise God for his judgments. Praise God for his mercy.

David continued his worship by looking ahead.
When we reflect on the nature of God it gives us strength for the challenges of daily life.
God does not just save us and leave us alone. Instead He enables us.
God equips us through His Word (29-31).
God equips us through His instruction (32-35).
God equips us through His leading in our lives (36-37).
David recognized that the Lord fought his battles (from Goliath to Ishbi-Benob).
Tell the Lord the challenges you are facing today and rely upon his instruction.
Ask for God’s wisdom and trust his guidance.

David closed his Psalm by exalting God for who He is, how He has delivered David, and how he has worked in David’s life.
End your worship with praise of God. Praise him for Who He Is! Praise him for What He has Done! Praise Him for How he is working in your life today!
