Introduction
The word ask an intresting question: They wonder over just how much Mary knew about Jesus. She knew he was the son of God - the Angel told her that. She knew he was come to save - The Angel told Joseph that. But about the events of his future and his life? How much did she know?
Well today i want to ask you that question
(Your name) Did you Know...
(Your name) Did you Know...
The Word of the song that i want to point out are as follows:
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you
I want to focus on that word “Deliver”.
What does it mean? well we use it all the time - my pizza was delivered, the baby was delivered.
To deliver something it to move it, from where it is now, to where its ment to be.
So in what way would Jesus deliver , not only Mary, but all who would trust in Him?
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Jesus is our deliveer. Which is to say, that Jesus took us out of one place and moved us to another place.
We were in a place of captivity, but Jesus moved us to a place of liberty.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Jesus did for us what we see in type what Moses, through God did for the Hebrews.
They were in a place of cptivity in Egypt, and then God moved, delivered them out of that place into a land flowing with milk and honey.
That is exacally what Jesus had done for us. and i want to spend a few minutes showing you the bredth of mighty deliverance.
Deliverance from trouble
Deliverance from trouble
17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, And delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Trubles - This speaks of the low grade anxiety that gnaws away at people. Its not refering to calamity, but to everyday stresses and troubles.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Food, Clothing, tomorrow, job security, the economy - These things cause great stress to millions of people.
But the Christian, through Faith in Jesus Christ, is delivered from these troubles. How - By faith and trust in God.
A christian is not given assurance that they will always have the best food, or money for clothes, or will never be fired - These troubles can still come to us, BUT, we have faith that God will always carry us through, and as a result - our troubles are just as real, but Jesus has taken us from the place where these things worry us and have moved us to a place where faith conquers.
Deliverance from Distress
Deliverance from Distress
6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, And he delivered them out of their distresses.
Distress is Psychological Suffering.
This is speaking about trauma as the result of a crises. When a person is in a state of distress, you are normally in a very bad place.
13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, And he saved them out of their distresses.
14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And brake their bands in sunder.
7 And he led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city of habitation.
Darkness is the state
Certan losses or obsticals take on a giolath like look to them, and we see no way out or through. Yoiu might lose hope, you might loose your peace, you might lose your joy.
Really its Depression.
Jesus has the power to deliver us from this place, not by changing our circumstances or our past, but by changing us. By giving us the authority over our own minds and thoughts. By giving us back peace through the indwelling Holy Spirit. By giving us back hope through the blood of Jesus Christ, and by giving us back joy by the Living Word of God.
Deliverance From Fear.
Deliverance From Fear.
4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
This is the big one. Fear is the single biggest problem facing al of humanity today. - Not some generic fear, like certain phobias, but the source of all fear. The fear that gripped huamnity in the garden of Eden. A fear that Adam and Eve experienced and a fear that they passed down to everyone of their offspring, including you and me.
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Now fear has a place. Fear is a good thing. Fear is a God given alarm that something is wrong.
Well, we have to start off by qualifiying this fear.
Adam and Eve’s faer was not abnormal, it was an alarm that sounded in their heafts that something was very wromng.
And there is something very wrong! There is something to be very afaid of!
8 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
How does thins make you afaird? Because its not very lopng that you realise that you arrived with your deprture ticket already stammped and you will stand befor t6his holy God one day!
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
And this makes us terrified of this one thin g that haunts us all our life. We are terrified of death.
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Why are people afraid of death?
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Let me tell you: people who say that they are not afraid of death are lying. Or they are so evil that their conscience is so seared that they have lost all moral discernment. That is, no are so blinded that they no longer see their nakedness like Adam and Eve.
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; That put darkness for light, and light for darkness; That put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
