Advent: Preparing the Way
Many churches do advent every year — it’s a time to remember and celebrate the coming of our Messiah, Jesus Christ.
The definition of advent is: “The arrival of a notable person, thing or event.”
Yet we often think of advent in the context of the past.
While the past is to be celebrated, we aren’t done waiting are we?
Jesus will return; and we await his return with great anticipation.
Advent reminds us to rejoice in what Jesus has accomplished, what Jesus is accomplishing, and what Jesus will accomplish.
