Isaiah 9:6–7 NASB95
6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.
We in this church know a lot about children being born
Luke 2:10 NASB95
10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
today I want to talk about some good news.
Look at your neighbor and say, “Like really good news!”
With life and situation everyday we hear much undesirable news.
We turn on the TV and it filled with bad news.
But the thing I love about church is the fact that every Sunday and every time we set in the building we know with great assurance that again this day Jesus is going to win.
Unless of course your not listening.
There is no much Good news.
For the broken man and the lonely woman.
For the parentless teen.
For the grumpy old man.
For the new baby born.
For the widowed woman, even for the worst of them there is good new.
God himself is going to win again. No matter what the circumstances. No matter what the odds.
We have a God that really does go to the lowest places and to the most lost of them and is full of compassion and he has been touch by the feeling of our infirmities
and knows what its like to be left and not appreciated and poor strip and left naked
but this God still won.
After betrayal he won
After lies and rumors he wom
After loss of friends and loved ones he won.
After long hours of prayer and tears still he won
After they tried to kill him he won
After he hung on the cross and died still he won
After spending 3 days in hell guess what he won
Oh I feel some good news coming.
2,000 plus years ago in the small town of Bethlehem Judah
God/Jesus the 2nd person of the trinity was born.
Galatians 4:4 NASB95
4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
we will read the rest after while.
When the fullness of time came God sent his son.
Speaking of God the father.
Just for a moment let me preach about the father
There is a street that leads the Father’s house and that street’s name is Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 NASB95
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
The way to the Father is found in His Son Jesus and His desire to make us one with Him and the Father.
When you come to Jesus not only do you receive a Savior, you get the opportunity of a lifetime.
You receive the world’s greatest Father
This is good news
The Father in heaven loves you so much that He sent His Son to gain sons.
John 6:44 NASB95
44 “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
It’s a passionate and intense love.
John 3:16 NASB95
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
It’s not God so loved the world He thought very highly of them, or God so loved the world that He sent them a blessing.
No.
God so loved the world He expressed it.
He looked all over heaven to find the thing
He loved the most to express His love for His creation.
He sent the most precious and important thing in all of heaven to prove His undying love for us and that is His Son.
The Son of God became the Son of Man to make man become sons of God.
Thats GOODNEWS
Prove it pastor look back at
Galatians 4:4–7 NASB95
4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, 5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

This news sounds wonderful matter fact all call him name wonderful

For unto us a child is born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders;
The Government. The world system and standards
The pressures of this age no matter what they are.
When they seem heavy to us and hard to maintain and hard to deal with remember he won
These system where never meant to rest upon our shoulders but his.
That’s why he says
Matthew 11:28–30 NASB95
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
More good news, God is strong and strong enough to carry any weight that I have.
He said come so I am coming.
And this is the principle reason we call him wonderful

Wonderful, Couselsor

Not an average councilor or therapist
He's actually wonderful
If you are dressed I good good news for you. I know a wonderful counselor
Jesus when he tells them about the Holy Spirit which is to come he says
John 14:16 NASB95
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
Helper here in the Greek is paraskites meaning comforter.
Also mean advocate
You don't just get the Holy Spirit, you get Jesus as well

Mighty God. Mighty enough to save.

The central truth of the gospel is that God has provided a way of salvation for men through the gift of His son to the world.
He suffered as a sacrifice for sin, overcame death, and now offers a share in His triumph to all who will accept it.
The gospel is good news because it is a gift of God, not something that must be earned by penance or by self-improvement
Mark 1:14–15 NASB95
14 Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
Look at
Matthew 4:23–25 NASB95
23 Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people. 24 The news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them. 25 Large crowds followed Him from Galilee and the Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan.
The Gospel doesn’t just save you from sin but it heals yo body and it drawn people

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
In what? In where? Christ Jesus.
There it is.. prince of Peace

There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace,

On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
