Standing Ready

How do you stand ready with so much terror around you? Sort of like taking a ride on a rollercoaster. The ride is dangerous, but you feel safe to ride this amazing ride going at great speed in gravity defying directions. The engineer gives out the instructions of keeping arms and body parts inside and makes sure the security holds are working. You ride this ride in hope that you will walk out okay when the ride is over. You are able to stand because of Hope.

Jesus tells of his second coming.

Jesus is coming in power and glory.
Every will see the Son of Man
He will be coming on a cloud.
There are two aint’s waiting to see Jesus.
Saints
Ain’t
The Saints see their salvation.
Luke 21:28 NLT
28 So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”

Stand in great confidence in your hope in the Lord.

The savior and redeemer is coming to save us from this dark world.
The redeemer will show his great power and glory for all to see how great is our God!

How are you standing?

Stand with great confidence.
This is what Paul talks about by having a clear conscience.
Acts 24:16 NLT
16 Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people.
Acts
Stand with great hope.
Stand up right!
Stand up to look up!
The Lord is here and so is your salvation.
Stand and see your salvation.
Exodus
Exodus 14:13 NLT
13 But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again.
My hope is built on nothing less..
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

God’s word is forever.

Jesus is speaking of the judgment that is coming.
Jesus Word is true.
Luke 21:33 NLT
33 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there's just something about that name Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain; Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim Kings and kingdoms will all pass away But there's something about that name Kings and kingdoms will all pass away But there's something about that name

Jesus speaks with an allusion to

Daniel 7:13–14 NLT
13 As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.
Daniel 7:13 NLT
13 As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence.
He reigns forever and forever more.
All will pass away but the kingdom of the Lord as his word proclaims.

Look for the Kingdom.

The parable of the fig tree teaches us to look for God’s signs of his coming kingdom.
Noticing the early leaves on the fig tree or any other tree tells you summer is near.
Summer is the season for growth of vegetation and the time of harvest.

Kingdom of God is near...

All these things refer back to speaking of the strange sings in the sun, moon, and stars.
This generation, the Jews and her people who are the descendants and blessed to live in faith with God wait for his coming.
We being of the generation of believers in the resurrected Messiah wait with great anticipation the coming of the Lord.

King in all his glory will come.

Lets us behold his great power and glory
Luke 21:27 NLT
27 Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory.

Don’t let your hearts be dulled.

Luke 21:34–36 NLT
34 “Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware, 35 like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. 36 Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.”
=37
Pray to be strong in the Lord.
The devil wants to have us forget the Lord and his rule.

God warned Israel not to forget where they have come from.

Deuteronomy 8:11–14 NLT
11 “But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today. 12 For when you have become full and prosperous and have built fine homes to live in, 13 and when your flocks and herds have become very large and your silver and gold have multiplied along with everything else, be careful! 14 Do not become proud at that time and forget the Lord your God, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt.
We too need to heed this instruction that we too do not forget where the Lord has brought us.

Do not lose sight of the meaning of Christmas.

Be come drunk in the excess of the world and lose sight of Jesus. What has blocked my view of the reason for the season.
The greatest gift has already been given and looking for a new gift is blinding you of the truth. So we must be on watch and guard our hearts from wondering.
Jesus is the reason and is the reason all exists.
Jesus is the message as he is God’s messenger.
Jesus is our Hope for he is hope.
He is our redeemer and the perfect sacrifice.
Lord. come now for we need you!
