Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

How to Have a Happy Home “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” ().

Be Cheerful

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

22A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

There are many drab, cheerless tasks, homes people. Depressive homes are unhealthy—physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Our homes should be kept alive with cheer and joy. This goes a long way toward having a happy home. tells us: 4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

Be Courteous

7 In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

Some people are respectful and polite at work and at church. They are courteous to friends and strangers but they show little, if any, respect to their companion, the one who stands by them in sickness and hardship.

Little courtesies are important. Open the door for your wife. Never criticize your husband in public. Say “Thank you” to your children.

9 Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. 10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.

Be Cooperative

1 As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. 2 For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. 3 We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry.

“Let’s go together”—we are workers together for the mutual good of all. “you-go-your-way-and-I’ll-go-mine” (SELFISH) attitude widens the gap.

Be loyal. Never criticize, nor allow criticism, of your family. Keep family secrets. Keep the intimate a sacred trust. Peter tells us:

8 Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. 9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.

Be Consistent

Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Firmness, coherence, and discipline are necessary where children are concerned. Limits must be set and enforced by both parents.

If children are to obey God later in life, they must learn to obey their parents while they are young young.

Children need the security that their parents’ faith, firmness, and discipline (with reason) brings joy and happiness.

1 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. 2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise:

Be Christian, (Let’s say that Out loud) Be Christian

5 For though I am far away from you, my heart is with you. And I rejoice that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong. 6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Don’t be afraid to tell your children, your husband or wife, “I love you.” They may know it, but they need to hear it from you.

Let love rule and lead the way. Everyone makes mistakes. Forgive and forget, and you’re well on your way to having a happy home.

Give God first place.

33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. 34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
