WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT JESUS?
WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT JESUS?
As we get closer to Christmas, it is easy to get tired, fatigued and just plain wore out. And if you don’t watch it between football, hunting and shopping you will miss the reason for the season, and your love and relationship with the Lord will grow old and dull.
Scholars tell us that from the time of the first human beings until nw there have been approximately 60 Billion people on the planet...and by the way if you don’t believe the Bibles account of mankind that we all came from a single pair of parents, a recent study has shown that all people come from a single set of adults....
SHOW VIDEO
People today want to know
By the way those finding were not by preachers or even Christians… The genetisits said that he didn’t want to believe the accuracy of those finding. Why? Because of their implications. And the implication is that the Bible account is more accurate than the pseudo scientific theory of Evolution. See in order for evolution to work you can’t have everything traced down to one set of parents, fully formed. You have to have at least 10,000 Adam and Eves. The reasoning was that all the genetic diversity could account for there being just one set of humans.
But now there is conclusive evidence in DNA sequencing that proves that all genetic diversity does in fact derive from one set of human parents. Give science time and it will catch up. One thing you need to understand about man’s science, is it is always changing. You stick to scripture and you have a solid foundation to build and live your life on. You see much of science depends on assumptions. They must assume this this and this in order to run their experiments.
But scholars tell us, from the time of the first humans, until now there have been approximately 60 Billion humans on the planet. And out of 60 billion people there are only a handful that has impacted the world for lasting generations. And out of that handfuyl there is one that stands head and shoulders above the rest. His name is Jesus Christ.
"I know men and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between Him and every other person in the world there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creation of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him."

Adrian Rogers Sermon Archive Introduction
Bryant Gumbel interviewed Larry King. Now, generally, it’s the other way around, but Bryant Gumbel on national television interviewing Larry King, he said, “Larry, if you could meet God and ask Him one question, what would it be?” Now, remember that Larry King is a Jew. He said, “I’d ask Him if He has a son.” Interesting question. Well, I can tell you, He does, and His name is Jesus.
He's the King of the Ages
He's the King of Heaven
He's the King of Glory
He's the King of kings, and He's the Lord of lords. That's my King.
Well....I wonder, do you know Him?
He's enduringly strong.
He's entirely sincere.
He's eternally steadfast.
He's immortally graceful.
He's imperially powerful.
He's impartially merciful. THATS MY KING
HE LIVED IN A TINY LAND IN AN OBSCURE COUNTRY, IN AN OBSCURE PART OF THE WORLD. hE WAS BORN, LAID IN A FEEDING TROUGH,. AND YET HIS BIRTH dsivides the centuries. AD latin ANNo Domini- Means Year of our Lord BC stands for Before Christ
He never wrote a book but yet librairies of millions of books have been written about him.
He never painted a painting our sculpted a sculture but the greatest art works that the world has ever seen has been dedicated to him.
He had no formal education but the greteast universities in the world began so men could learn more about himI.
He was bborn in an obscure town, raised in another obscure village. He worked in a carpenter shop until he was thirty. He never had a family, never traveled more than 200 miles outside of his birthplace. He had a short 3 year ministry, lived as a homeless man, His disciples ran from him. He was nailed to a cross where his only possessions his clothes were gambled away. He was buried in a borrowed tomb… But yet.....
All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man on this earth as much as that one solitary life.
To Explain Him is impossible, to ignore Him is disastorous, and to reject Him is fatal!

Open with me to the Book of Colossians chapter 1 verse 15
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

JESUS ALONE REVEALS THE FATHER

But to explain Him is impossible; to ignore Him is disastrous; to reject Him is fatal
Adrian Rogers Sermon Archive I. Jesus Alone Reveals the Father
I. Jesus Alone Reveals the Father
You and I cannot fully understand or know God, reason will not allow you do do that, and religion will not do that. We have to understand God by revelation. Someone has to take us by the hand and show us the way. And that person is the Lord Jesus Christ
Now look again at verse 15
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
Notice two words there. The word image and the word firstborn
Because Jesus is the image of invisible God and he is the First born of all creation.
IMAGE
IMAGE
The Greek word for image here is the word Eikon. Everybody here because of commputers and and smart phones are familiar with icons. You click on the icon and you get the content behind that icon. Well Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the Icon of the invisible God. The word means identical or exact replica. He is the exact representation f God
9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,
He is God in Human flesh. All of the Godhead dwelt n the body of Jesus Christ, the Father, son and Holy Spirit. And He is the only way that you can know the one and true God.
now you may know about God as Creator, you may learn facts about God, but How are you going to knw God. you must know him through the Lord Jesus Christ.
FIRSTBORN
FIRSTBORN
nOW THE WORD fIRSTBORN DOESN’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH TIME, IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WIOTH STATUS. tHAT IS WHEN IT SAYS THAT hE IS THE FIRSTBORN OF ALL CREATION, ITS NOT SAYING THAT HE WAS THE FIRST CREATED THING. tHE WORD fIRSTBORN HERE MEANS “THE CHIEF, THE HIGHEST OF THE HIGH. Cults like the Jehovas Witnesses will use this verse as a proof verse to say that jesus is not the Almighty but just another created being. But that is not what the word means. In ancient cultures the firstborn recieved a double inherietance. It speaks of the stature of the Lord Jesus Christ. he is the inheritere of everything. Because he overcame
Jesus is the Power of Creation
Jesus Alone Rules the Universe
Jesus Alone Rules the Universe
16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
The For Him is Jesus so by Jesus all things were created in heaven and on earth. So you see The firstborn cannot mean that He wascreated, because in the very next verse we see that he is the Creator. Of Everything. He created heaevn. He created trees. He created man. Whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorites… That is He also created angels. He created Lucifer
Jesus is alone the Power of Creation
Jesus is alone the Power of Creation
The bible says that creation declares the glory of God. in fact the Bible says that the mere testimony of the created world will be enough light to condemn men to hell if they reject Christ for themself.
20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Romans 1
That is that the work of God in creation, when we look at the earth and understand the complexities of life and how finetuned everything in, when presented with that power we are without excuse. it is not enough light to be saved but it is enough light to condemn. Because when take that revelation and they stuff it down and they believe the lie. They exchange the truth for a lie, and begin to give themsleves to lesser things to the point that they begome depraved and mind. They become blind and begin to worship false gods. They became futiler in their thingking.
yous ay well I believe in Evolution. Can I tell you that many scientists are abandoning that sinking ship. That is an outdated theory with little evidence to be taken seriously. That is why you will hear men like Richard Dawkins begin to talk about maybe life coming to be through aliens and crystals.

DNA- For example, in your body you have about thirty-seven trillion cells. I counted last night, and I think that’s right—about thirty-seven trillion cells! And every one of those cells is so complex. For example, in that cell you would have rods. We call those rods chromosomes. In those chromosomes, we have what we call genes, or DNA. That gives the description of your body—a detailed description for every part of your body. That DNA is sort of a code. If you were to take one of the DNA particles in your body and try to write the code down, according to the source that I read, it would take 600,000 pages of information to write down just the DNA code in your cell—one of those trillions of cells! I mean, it is so complex! And somebody says, “Well, all that just happened.”

There’s a story about a man who was a nuclear physicist, and he was going from university to university lecturing on nuclear physics. He had a chauffeur who drove him from place to place. After a while, the chauffeur said, “You know, Doctor, I’ve heard you give that speech so many times I have memorized it. I could give it word for word just like you give it.” The doctor said, “Could you? Well, you know, the truth of the matter is I’m getting bored giving this speech. Let’s just play a game. Let me put on your uniform, and I’ll pretend I’m the chauffeur. You pretend that you are the physicist, and you give the lecture at this next university.” They were going to have great fun.
So the chauffeur got up there, stood in front of all of those learned professors and intellectuals and this student body, and with precision and exactitude he gave that speech flawlessly—except for one thing: He gave it even quicker than the physicist would normally give it. So the chancellor of the university stood up and said, “Well, look. We have a few minutes. We have time for questions and answers. We’ll take questions from the student body.” And one student stood up and said, “Sir, would you answer this question?” He said, “In the center of the atom there are protons, and both of them have a positive charge. And we know that positive charges repel one another, but the nucleus of the atom doesn’t disintegrate; it holds together. What keeps it from flying apart, sir? Would you please answer that question? Because according to physics, it should fly apart, but it doesn’t; it holds together.”
That chauffeur said, “I’ve been lecturing for a long time, but I believe that must be the dumbest question I’ve ever heard. I cannot believe that you could have passed the examination to get into this university with such an inane question.” He said, “Even my chauffeur could answer that question. Sir, would you come up and answer that question?”
Friend, I want you to know, neither the chauffeur nor the physicist could answer it. The only person who can answer that question is JesusC.

Jesus Is the Purpose of Creation
Jesus Is the Purpose of Creation
Friend, He is the power of creation. He is the preserver of creation. And He is the purpose of creation. Look in the last part of verse 16: “All things were created by him, and for him.” () Did you think it was all made for you? It’s all created by Him and for Him. That’s the reason when somebody says, “What’s the world coming to?” you can say, “It’s coming to Jesus.” It is coming to Jesus. It was all made for Him. He is the purpose of it all.
Now, today in America we are being invaded by Eastern religions. And the philosophy of New Ageism and Eastern religions is this: They believe that life is circular; it goes round and round and round. They believe in reincarnation. So, if you didn’t do it right the first time, you go through again and you get another chance. And you’re born again—not spiritually born again, but physically born again. And if you had good karma, you may come back to a higher level. But if you had bad karma, you may come back as a roach. Or if you had fairly good karma, maybe you could make it to a cow. That’s the reason they don’t eat meat: You might be eating your grandmother at McDonald’s. So they just believe that you just keep getting reincarnated, because it’s circular.
There’s not a shred of Scripture that teaches reincarnation—not at all! The Bible teaches that history is linear, that we’re headed toward a climax, we’re headed toward a purpose: It is all made for Him. What’s this world coming to? It’s coming to Jesus. And the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdom of our Lord and His Christ. () And you’d better get saved before you die, because that’s the only opportunity you’re going to have. “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” () And everything is coming to Jesus. He, friend, rules the universe. He is the power of creation. He is the preserver of creation. He is the purpose of creation. It is all about the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the answer to the mystery of history.

Jesus Alone Reconciles the Lost
20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Colossians 1:20
Don’t miss this, foolow along the line of argument. Paul is saying
Paul is making a case for the Deity f the Lord Jesus Christ and then it culminates at a cross. That is what is remarkable about His death on a cross is that God, the Mighty, God the Ruler, God the creator, God the invisible dies, on a cross, sheds His blood so that a lost and rebellious sinful world can be reconciled to this world.
Jesus is the preserver of creation
Not only did Jesus Ransom men from Hell, He vastly improveed life now
Jesus is the reason for modern hospitals
Jesus is the reason for moidern science
Jesus is the reason for Higher Institutes of learning
Almost every one of the first 123 colleges and universities in the United States had Christian origins. They were started by Christians for Christian purposes, to train ministers. Dr. Paul Lee Tan declares: Every collegiate institution founded in the colonies prior to the Revolutionary War—except the University of Pennsylvania—was established by some branch of the Christian church. Even at the University of Pennsylvania, the evangelist George Whitefield played a prominent part.29 Harvard, Yale, William and Mary, Brown, Princeton, New York University, Northwestern University, and other schools have thoroughly Christian roots. Harvard got its start from the donation of money and books from Reverend John Harvard. Engraved in stone at the entrance of Harvard is this message: After God had carried us safe to New England, and we had built our houses, provided necessities for our livelihood, reared convenient places for God’s worship, and settled the civil government; one of the next things we longed for, and looked after was to advance learning, and perpetuate it to posterity; dreading to leave an illiterate ministry to the churches, when our present ministers shall lie in the dust.30
Dartmouth was founded to train missionaries to the Indians. William and Mary was created “that the Christian faith might be propagated.”31 An early advertisement for King’s College, which opened in 1754 and is now Columbia University, read: “The chief thing that is aimed at in this college is to teach and engage children to know God in Jesus Christ.”32 The president of Princeton, Rev. John Witherspoon, said: “Cursed be all learning that is contrary to the cross of Christ.”
