Apollo 13

Video -
With a sense of calm Jim Lovell expresses confidence in the fact that things just seem to work out. FYI that was a real story.

Where should I be?

GPS, Topography Map
It is paralyzing to be disoriented. To look at your surroundings and not only not recognize them, but also not to know where to go from here. To climb to the top of the tallest hill only to find a range of mountaintops that go as far as the eye can see.
To feel the immense difference between where you are and where you want to be. I think we all feel that way about where we are in life.
Whether its raising kids, or parenting adult children, grandchildren...
Am I in the right major? Am I in the right job? - I don’t love it, but it pays the bills.
Why doesn’t my marriage look like that? My health isn’t great....Why doesn’t my body look like theirs.....
I wish I had insight, that I could tell you in every circumstance exactly where you are, and where you are going. But I can tell you this....
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God makes his plan clear in the second part of Isaiah which begins in chapter 40....
Isaiah 40:3–5 ESV
A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

He is executing a plan to bring you home.

The road to God was a precise one. Like Angels Landing trail at Zion National Park
“View of Zion Canyon from atop of Angels Landing” Cory Mottice Photography.
The trail that leads to that view....
One wrong step and thats it. When I look at that trail, I know in my heart its impossible. No matter how beautiful the view I wont be seeing it with my own eyes.
God is not satisfied with peril, not for you.
Isaiah 43:25 ESV
“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

Psalm 119:105 ESV
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Proverbs 3:5–6 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
I searched google: Bible verses about raising kids. First link: 10 Bible Verses about Parenting. First Verse:
Colossians 3:21 ESV
Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
And the path to Christmas got a little straighter. No more asking my kids if they want to open presents every day. So we will open them today!!!
