When Our Savior Arrived in Human Form - 12/9/2018

all this second Sunday of Advent We celebrate the coming of our Lord and savior. I like to make a little comparison. Between Jesus coming and we would get the word to present. It was coming.

If the president were coming the governor would be notified. US Representative of our area would be notified the mayor would be notified all the politicians would be notified and everyone would make proper preparation plays coming to visit the Secret Service would come to make sure that there was proper secure accommodation available to him. The bands would be told to practice and get ready to leave the great March down the Broad Street announcing the king is coming. The president is coming would be roped off for his convenience. Barriers would be put up to control the crowds local city and state police would be reinforced. They would be out in force to protect the president. Local hospital would be notified and inspected by the Secret Service to make sure that medical facilities were available instantly should he or his family needed the media office would be notified and they would be coming to claim their positions where they could broadcast live as he came down the street newspapers and radio and television coverage would be everywhere and we do all of that for our president.

What did they do for the coming of Jesus?

Well, it came about this way. suddenly in the city of Nazareth in the village of Nazareth. I should say a 15 or 16 year old virgin girl who was betrothed already to a man was found to be pregnant. You know how quickly that you spread around Nazareth how quickly the tongues wagging people talk and fingers pointed. She's pregnant. Fortunately, the governor declares the time of the Bible says senses is actually a taxing time. Everyone had to go back to the home of his record and pay what we used to call in the south of Poland tax. They went back to pay the poll tax. So he took her back down there and while she was there right after they arrived she delivered her child. There was no ban. The media would wouldn't have covered it. She was just a virgin peasant girl. It was not a major Nightly News. It would not have been broadcast on the radio. Nothing like that would have happened nothing like that would have happened on Earth this baby. Micah and Micah 5:2 it said the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. He put it all out there and he was totally ignored. He was totally ignored. So, how did Israel respond to this coming of God God's arrival on Earth. How did they respond? Speak about man. I want you to compare how we respond today. We're about to celebrate. His birth will go out to celebrate his birth in it's already under celebration. Trees are decorated presents of bought. Food is cooked preparation is made for family get-togethers for celebrations kind of preparation. Jesus is in the stable. It was no room for them anywhere else, so he was born in the stable. His first place to sleep with a feed Raw. The difference between the way we present would be the president's coming and the way the world view the Jesus coming is quite different. Why does what's happening? Suddenly a Strange Land took place? a group of foreigners showed up in town Where is this king is born. We have come to see the king. Where is he? You can imagine that shirt for silly and especially the king up. The Bible says in Matthew 2 for Pharma showed up looking for a king. They said where is he has been born King of the Jews. We saw a star when it rolls and we've come to worship him when King Herod heard this he were trouble and all Jerusalem was trouble with him and Assembly Hall the chief priests and scribes of the people he inquired of them. Where is this Christ to be born? Where is this man to be born? That was Herod the Great. Now we call him Herod the Great but he was one of the meanest most vicious most vindictive man. That's ever lived for SS. He murdered Mary Omni his wife. We don't know how he killed her. But the keep being able to punish her instead of her at her being very Vera and they was put in a barrel of honey. I am told that flash does not Decay as long as it's submerged under honey. I don't know but that's what I've always heard. But anyway, he buried her he put in a barrel of honey where he could come and tell her what he thought about her everyday. Perenchio had two sons. And this is a man that built the temple that Jesus told him. What is water comparison? He's a man that built the beautiful Temple. Did Jesus told the disciples one day they won't be two stones attached to another out of this Herod the Great and that was a recognition that Jesus God when he came he found an agitated and irritated and the No No Other King in the area and to make sure there was not another he killed all the children all the boy children in Matthew 2:16 in the Bible said, this is after the wise men came remember what he told them. I don't know what you're talking about. But if you will go find it and come back and identifying and tell me where is I'll go worshiping will you know, what was in his my heart the killer that he was he had one thing in mind they understood this and they didn't come back. And so he said, all right. Here's what we'll do. Matthew 2:16 Harris when he saw he had been tricked by the wise man became curious and you sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and all the region who were two years old and under that's a nice guy. We don't know exactly how many that was that area was not a great large area, but he killed every male child under 2 years old. Now you wonder why I can you do this or who calls that Satan who was Satan that was the most in his original state. He was the most beautiful creature that God ever made. He was a smartest most brilliant most beautiful creature that God ever made. He was the head of the Angels. And you know the story he's later going to falling to be tossed Out of Heaven. So when he's tossed Out of Heaven he knew God's plan had been there. God's plan he knew that God was going to send his son and so he was waiting for that time. When Jesus came he knew Jesus was coming with his bring up the fact that he had been in heaven when they turn our plans were made. He expected Jesus to come and he was there. You tried he killed all the boys in the area where you missed it and you know the rest of the story in the first chapter 4 and 5 of The Book of Matthew Jesus steps into his Messianic Road. He's 30 years old now and we don't know what happened to Jesus in the silent years between 12:00 and I talked about last Sunday when he was taken to the temple and and and when they started to leave these he was left behind and they found him in his father's house from 10 to 30. We don't know what Jesus did but instead when he was 13 years old. He began his ministry. He went over and John the Baptist baptized and as soon as John the Baptist baptized him who was there with the Temptations Satan was there. Offered him three and the last one was this and you don't have to die. You don't have to I know the plans for you. I know what these people don't know. I know what you're going to have to do what you don't have to do it cuz I can give it to you say never tell you that you don't have to believe what they believe it that church. I can get these things. You don't have to pray. I can give you these you don't have to read that book. I can give you these things. He did that to Jesus three times. The last one was he said you don't have to go to that cross that way but he knew what he was talking about. Jesus knew what he was talking about and took him up and let him look down through the eternity at all the kingdoms. He said I can give that to you. All you got to do is stop this Messianic thing and worship me and it's yours. He still doing at Indy he still doing that to you and you still doing that to me. Satan lied about his birth and they're still people in the world don't believe in the Virgin birth. He lied about his death on the cross and they're still people that don't believe there was a Jesus and if he did he didn't die on the cross and they laugh at the idea of the Resurrection. You don't think so go to the University of Florida University of Georgia and take some courses and you'll find out they don't believe it either. They don't believe it either people believe this Remember this my friend in the 53rd chapter of Isaiah the first verse God gives an answer to all this. God said the fool has said in his heart what? There is no God who said that any fool, no matter how many ph.ds he's got behind this name anybody that doesn't believe the store right here. The Bible declares a fool a fool a fool. This is what the this was what was waiting for Jesus when he came so they just didn't pay any attention to it. He was just a child born to a 15 16 17, maybe 18 year old, but I'm sure it didn't we was below 18th and and he just kind of disappear to is 30 years old and you stepped down and it claimed he was a son of God. He was a son of God. The second point that I have in this is is in spite of the many Old Testament references in Old Testament promises about his coming for the throne of David except for Satan's use of Hera. He was then he was met by complete indifference now getting a comparison of the President coming to Tallahassee or to Thomasville. Are they Cairo and all the preparation it would be made and all the honors and all the glory and all the marching bands in all the publicity and all the all the pictures that would be taken in and all the broadcast of it. It would be almost worldwide. Jesus, came down to Jerusalem Lyft is life. And he was met with total indifference total indifference or what? So what?

Are you going to take time in this next two or three weeks and look up the heaven and say Lord? I Thank you that you sent Jesus and he was ignored the first time but he didn't ignore me. I didn't want him and he slipped my soul in the foot my name in the Lamb's Book of Life how many of us plan to do that? We plan just to get up on December 25th and have a good time with your family over eat sometime that day watch football game and just let it fly.

That was how much they appreciated? They did not want to hear the truth. They didn't want to hear what his coming man. What is salvation men? That was his first time you went home. He infuriated them because he read the 61st chapter of Isaiah.

They didn't want to hear the truth. They didn't want to hear his purpose for coming now two years later. He went back to years later. You waited too long years and a and before he was crucified. He went back again and this morning. I'm going to read from Matthew 13 this you find this in Matthew 6. I'm heartsick sore Matthew 13 coming to his hometown. They didn't want to hear the truth. They didn't want to hear they want to hear what they did. They didn't want to hear what the Old Testament says about him. If he's anything good out of this. At least I didn't try to kill him like they did the first time you came home, but they just decided he just a man like us. By the way, that's told him in school, too. Yeah, that was a man named Jesus. He's pretty famous butt in the butt. And in the end. He was just a man like us he died. They killed him. They put him in the grave and that was the end of it that's believed. Go to go to Europe to get University of Georgia. University of Florida ask him in the history Department what they believe about Jesus in the sociology Department what they think about his salvation

We feel the same way now that they felt then. Now that was a problem for the Jews. The Jews could never accept the Messiah. And by the way, this is a key to the whole thing. The Jews could never accept them who would come as a server. No overthrow a kingdom kingdom set up a throne set up again in Jerusalem and sit on that throne. It was at that they would not accept anyone except to come on that came back to reestablish Israel in His Glory Days those days of David in the days of Solomon. They would let not accept anyone that wooden train royalty for image of Jerusalem throne and here is a man born to a servant girl who's who's supposed while there was a carpenter and they going to look at him as a massage. I just couldn't accept that. They just could not accept that. They wanted a real game and these the apostles, you know, three or four times Jesus which one is closest to in which one's going to have the most powerful job who have this job and do it have that job on the way to the cross? Possibly on the day of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem. James and John's mother got Jesus off to the side and said she was so sure he was going to go in there and declare that he was a king and the Romans were gone. And so James and John's mother said in Matthew 20:21 father Lord do this. They tell me promise me promise me is what he says tell me or say that these two sons are mine or the one on your right hand and one on your left. We're in heaven. No in Jerusalem. Set up. And Jesus went to the cross and died.

They just couldn't accept that. It could not accept that he's even his place of birth was held against a in Matthew skewes me and John 752. They said search and find no Prophet ever arose in Galilee. No Prophet ever came out of Galilee and John 741 other said this is the Christ. But some said can the Christ come from gallery? And he don't have a family religious group.

He ain't nothing. That's the way they treated. God sent his only son and John cleared it up for sin John 1:1. Isatis versus his verses in the Bible. Jesus came to his own or his own people. Jesus came to his own people. How do they treat him? How did they treat him they did not accept it. They didn't receive in this what the Bible says. They didn't receive it. God sent his son came to his own people and it does not receded the world that Jesus came to save rejected him the world. Jesus came to save ignored. The world of Jesus came to save greeted him with complete indifference complete indifference. And by the way that has not changed from that day to this day because most people today look at Jesus and the Christmas story with complete indifference. complete indifference But there's one other group of people. Not everybody did it that way. There's one other group of people in spite of all the rejection in spite of all the indifference in spite of many many efforts to kill him before he was finally crucified on the cross. The Bible says for all the rejection indifference that Jesus face he found recognition and devotion and Honor by few people who believe that he was the son of God. Believe that he was the son of God Paul wrote the church at Philippi and he said that the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on Earth and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that's what will happen when we stand in judgement. every one of us has a free dated time to stand before Jesus everyone of Us 2 If you're Christian, you'll stand there. If you lost person you're going to go to another judge make all the great white Throne judgment. Now, there's a big difference in that and I keep explaining this Sunday after Sunday cuz I want to make sure we understand the difference Christians go and stand before the Judgment seat of Christ. Now what we do there is we give an account for what we've done is Christians will give an account for how we celebrated his birthday and 2018 is in this book will give an account of that now here they are you going to be safe you going to heaven but there's going to determine the amount of reward you get for your life. Now the lost people I don't matter how many times I baptize them or how many churches they've gone lost people won't go they go seven years later to something called the Great White Throne judgment and almighty God. I just sitting there. Not Jesus who died on the cross. Almighty God is there. And everyone that goes to stand before him will not go to see if they're saved a lost their lost or they wouldn't be there everybody to goes there is going to hell all they going to find out there is why? And if people can't remember why they going to help he'll explain it. You'll see I sent my son and that's the way you treated me. You lived your life and enjoy it a good laugh at you never had time for my son. So I don't have time for you. That's the two judgements Peter said ever talking about ebony bow and every tongue will confess more places places, but those who confess that the great white Throne judgment will confess it too late too late too late. But you know what the Bible says to all who received him who believed in his name he gave them the right to be the children of God. That's a key verse of all this whole story to all who received him put him in their hearts put him in their heart. He gave them the right to become children of God almost all the New Testament books record just a few people who really believe that just a few people that we really believe that at the resurrection only a hundred and twenty people what they're celebrating 20 33 years on there three years of ministry dying on the cross and no more than a hundred and twenty people love them enough the following to the end. Now, you can say what about those other people. They just didn't follow me. You know, it's easy to jump on up for popular bandwagon for a while, but it's and people fall away how many people join churches and they start off the first few Sundays are there and then they're gone. No, I told you I went to a church where I serve for years and my first Sunday in the first service young man came forward made a confession of Faith right there in the front. I baptized night and I never saw him again. He joined our church. He never had anything to do with Jesus. He just joined the church. He just joined the church. But the Bible says to all who received him he gave them the right the privilege of honor of becoming children of God. John 3:15 says whoever believes in him may have eternal life. He never thought about this. The first honor that Jesus received on Earth in spite of all the prophecies Aspire fight all the prophets speaking in spite of all the Pharisees it will there and all the herodians that were there and all the the other people that were there. He is first on Earth came from the Gentile and I'll read it to you this morning. I just want to go back to point it out to you looking for him. Foreigners jobs. He's born he's at he's he's been in a Manger who comes looking for him. Who is the first people to Bow Down and Worship Him? I'm pretty sure you already rented this morning. They kept beating in they kept stoning him. They kept persecuting in and finally, he said I'm finished. I'm going to the Gentiles and right there to church never turn back since in the gospel is propagated not by those with all the learning learning not by those of all the prophecy when Paul said with finished we going to go to people who listen we going to go to people who accept Jesus we watch and so he turned to the Gentiles and here we are today. Here we are today. Here we are. What was responsible use herod's summed it up from all kill him?

Well in conclusion, let me say this. 25 year a 2500 years later. Not much is changed as it. Not much has changed in these 2,000 years since Jesus died on that cross. Not much has changed. Not much has changed. He still ignored. Just like it was here. He still disrespected like it was here. He is selling his birth is celebrated in so many places but celebrated.

How tall should we celebrate his birth? We had a tree right now a lot of parties. Let me tell you something drinkers. You celebrate my Jesus birth by drinking whiskey or beer you're spitting and God's face and you will stand before him and one of those two places. You want to spit in God's face go home and Heist one for him. I'm celebrating Christmas with what is Christmas his birth? You high school on you has it in his face you spitting in his face? And most of what we call Christmas is a spit in his face because we looking for Santa Claus and not celebrating Jesus and I don't have anything against Santa Claus believe me and me and my children enjoyed Christmas when they were young and we've enjoyed a lot of it since I got older but let me tell you something. There's a big difference in celebrating Christmas and celebrating the birth of our savior. A big difference and everyone will stand and give an account one day of how we did it. How we did it and ask for these people then and to our time today, we get a chance to make the decision. Nobody makes it for us every one of us will celebrate his birth. Just like we want to Temptations will be there. Yes, you don't think Jesus was tempted when Satan had him up on that mountain and said you don't have to go to a cross and suffer and bleed and die. I can give all that to you.

You don't think that tempted him. Don't be tempted by what Satan offers you this Christmas? Because she's already paying for your sins. He's already paying for your sins. He paid for your sins for six hours on the cross. My sins and your sins will under his blood on that cross so you don't have to worry about that. This Christmas just worried is you giving him your heart your mind your soul and your strength. Let's not be guilty of two thousand years after the fact ignoring him again. Cuz one day we going to stand before him and give an account of it and we all want to hear what I'm going to talk about tonight at 5. He's going to say to those who pleasing. Well done my good and faithful servant and I can add to that he sing welcome home. I want to hear that. I want to hear that at the end of my life. I want to hear him say welcome home, son. I'm glad you're home. I want to hear that you want to hear that we all want to hear. I'll talk about that this afternoon at 5 when we stand before him.
