Muskox

I believe we can learn a lot about life and the creator by observing the creation.

This morning I want to introduce you to the Musk Ox

This morning I want to introduce you to the MuskOx. Although the average muskox only stands about chest hight to the average human it is a heavy beast which can weigh in up to 693 lbs. or 315 kg if you prefer. the have slow a deliberate movements but can kick it into high gear if needed. They live in river valleys in the tundra and have been under Canadian protection since 1917.
They stay where the shrubbery is abundant so the can eat all day.
Man the more I talk about them, the more I feel as if, if I were an animal…

Put in picture

With big wooly coats the can survive some of the worlds most in-climate weather.
Like humans You can tell the bulls from the cows by their moustaches. Oh wait that might be their horns.

Put in picture

There are two major predators the Muskoxen have. can you guess what they are?
The first is… did you see that, I think Fred’s trigger figure just twitched.
That’s right. since being put in protection in 1917 the populations have increased and since the 70’s recreational hunting, under very strict guidelines, of course, has become a very big source of income for the Inuit people of Canada, by way of guiding. So Fred save up your money and you can bring home a muskox.
The second predator follows no such guid lines. It is the Arctic Wolf.

Put in picture

Talk about how the wolf hunts the muskoxen
I like muskoxen, like I said before if I were an animal...
But what I like the most about them is what we can learn from them.

How to respond to the attacks of the preditor

psalm 46

Psalm 46 NLT
For the choir director: A song of the descendants of Korah, to be sung by soprano voices. God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! Interlude A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High. God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it. The nations are in chaos, and their kingdoms crumble! God’s voice thunders, and the earth melts! The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Interlude Come, see the glorious works of the Lord: See how he brings destruction upon the world. He causes wars to end throughout the earth. He breaks the bow and snaps the spear; he burns the shields with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Interlude
Psalm 46

What not to due...

Do not Panic

Be Still

Me: Run from a bear
We: When the wolf attacks we panic
God: When we run we do so because we forget who God is and that He is with us. We have a Father like the muskoxen that will protect us.
You: Don’t panic
We: When we stand still in the assurance of God we will stare down the enemy and say not today.
