Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you?
Most people when asked who they are they tell you what they do.
If I asked you right now you would give me a long list of who you think you might be. We have doctors, we have teachers, we have professionals we have a janitors, We have parents we have all these things that we label ourselves as and the truth of the matter is we don't know who We really are.
4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1 pet 2:4
In the fourth to first Peter uses A phrase coming to him an means that once we didn't have access to the father but, coming to him as to a living stone means we have access to the Father through Jesus Christ.
Rejected by many, chosen by God
Rejected by many, chosen by God
Rejection is not always all bad. As we look at the life of Jesus he too was rejected. The very people who stood with him rejected him.
You might have to ask yourself am I getting rejected? If everyone around you or people who comes your life accepts you all the time, then you have to ask yourself, “Am I a part of the crowd?" or “Does the crowd reject me?”
When God chooses, He hand picks someone. God doesn’t want what everyone else wants, He doesn’t choose whom every one else chooses. Your not suppose to fit in.
God’s big project
God’s big project
God has this big project verse 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house,
and with this project he uses special materials. He doesn't waste his time with cheap inexpensive materials he only uses the materials that is very expensive. So expensive that it cost him his very own son.
Choice of foundation
Choice of foundation
dirt - Adam, Jesus - the rock.
Adam
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life
Jesus
17 I shall not die, but live,
And declare the works of the Lord.
I shall not die, but live,
And declare the works of the Lord.
18 The Lord has chastened me severely,
The New King James Version Psalm 118
17 I shall not die, but live,
And declare the works of the LORD.
18 The LORD has chastened me severely,
But He has not given me over to death.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go through them,
And I will praise the LORD.
20 This is the gate of the LORD,
Through which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will praise You,
For You have answered me,
And have become my salvation.
22 The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
So who are you?
But He has not given me over to death.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go through them,
And I will praise the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord,
Through which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will praise You,
For You have answered me,
And have become my salvation.
22 The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
23 This was the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
So who are you?
You are a stone a living stone and is being built for a spiritual house, You are God’s structure, you are God's building, you are a stone in the church. And you have certain duties because you are a priest, for too long we think I’ll just walk up to the front of the church and receive Jesus Christ and that’s it. No, it doesn’t stop there you have been chosen you have to set apart by God through Jesus Christ. And as a priest, it is your obligation to offer a spiritual sacrifice, that is holy and pleasing on to God. Bless His Holy name.
