Read

We read in this passage that the shepherds are used as far more than just blue collar workers. Instead, God calls them to be the first evangelists/missionaries of the God the Son. We see their brief time with the incarnate God forever changed their life, which our lives should mirror.
The

1. Chosen

We read in in the verses 8 and 9 that the the shepherds in this passage were CHOSEN to be the first to encounter the promised Savior of the world.
Shepherds at this time were known as ceremonially unclean and often could not leave their herds unattended to go to the temple to become clean.
1 Corinthians 1:26–29 HCSB
Brothers, consider your calling: Not many are wise from a human perspective, not many powerful, not many of noble birth. Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world —what is viewed as nothing—to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one can boast in His presence.
Also don’t miss the angels in the passage. God brought word of Jesus coming through his angels in a laser light show in the dead of night. Talk about a message.
1 Corinthians 1:26-
I’v been asked in the past, Cody I think God might be telling me to do something. I think God wants me to do this. We’ll here is your answer to all those inquires.
If God wants you to do something, to go somewhere, to tell someone, you will know.
We also know form other texts and scripture from this time that the region was at peace in terms of war. Known as Pax Romana which means Roman Peace.
But the angels sang of a different kind of peace. A peace that would and could only come from a Savior.
Fun fact:

2. Challenged

The language in verse 12 states “You will find..” telling us that they were commissioned to go to
Understand that God’s people have been awaiting for a Messiah ever since His mention the Old Testament.
In this season especially, God would love to meet with you for the first time. A lot of us know about the God of the bible, but a lot of us do not know about the Savior of the world.
You are meaning the

3. Changed

We see that the men that encountered this baby in the manger were changed because they had been in the presence of God.
When the shepherds had left, they became the first evangelist.
God changes us when when we truly encounter him truly.
