Knowing Jesus As The Prince of Peace

The ministry the sum of the what we call the high churches there doing was called the Advent. And there's a lot of things that go on with the Advent. They think it's about trees and lights and and presents you do realize that we exchange gifts at Christmas time to recognize that God sent a gift. That was the most precious gift and all of history. Y'all realize that's why we do that right and people have become. So eaten up with the idea of the tradition of Christmas that I rid of thing the other day where it said that I think it's in Illinois that they the state put up their annual Christmas tree and then they had to allow the satanists to put up something they wanted to put up. See, this is how this is how goofy we've gotten that that people won't let you just celebrate what it is you celebrate and and you know, if you if you ever listen if you want to celebrate hopscotch. And I don't do hopscotch. I ain't going to get it. I don't get mad at you for celebrating hopscotch. All you want to I'm going to hate on you. That's your thing Hopscotch. Knowing Jesus as the prince of peace scripture today a primary scripture comes to my Isaiah 9 verse number 6 and it reads as follows it says. For a child will be born to us a son will be given us. And the government will rest on his shoulders and his name his name will be called wonderful counselor, Mighty God Eternal Father Prince of Peace Prince of Peace.

So so I want to try to help you here cuz you knows I threw some stuff in here that you know, it's us all just good listening. I guess it's just to feel the tape out again, but because the Phantom of the foundational meaning of peace is the spiritual Harmony brought about by individuals risk restoration with God. Are they going to go try to buy some more Christmas and and and don't get me wrong you do what you want to do. I know poor folks. They got two and three trees at hday house look like a forest. They got two and three trees now. If that's your thing, I ain't mad at you if you if you if you if your tree collector lumberjack, that's your that's your deal. You know, when when when I grew up when I grew up. My mother was a big Christmas person and and she would buy the biggest tree she can find and Lord when they started flocking tree. She just went crazy. We had a we had a white tree a blue tree. We had every kind of tree you can think of And she would she would get so obsessed with Christmas until I whole living room would be nothing but Christmas presents. I mean it be just presents everywhere. It was it was it was almost disgustingly obnoxious just being honest with you cuz I know there's some of that stuff was stolen but

that's all that's a story for another time. She got it together and went on to heaven now. So some of the boxes some of the boxes will still smoking.

So so so but she was so she was so my mother was a big giver and she was so into trying to make sure we didn't experience when she experienced as a child at Christmas time because her mother died when she was young and you know, she didn't have a lot for Christmas and so she became very almost obsessed not affected me just her Obsession affected me the opposite way. I got to the point to where I was like Christmas is about Jesus and my daughter was so slick. She said what can we bake Jesus at Christmas by birthday cake, then she was slick bullshi I said so so, so I said if we bake the cake for Jesus who gets the First Slice she said well since she said was since he don't eat cake he's going to let me eat the first likes pain all this happened when she was about five years old. She was slicker than beargrease what I'm telling you.

When I worked in the prison this time of year, we would have all of the I'm going to get I promise you I'm going to get them to get this heat straight, please. I promise y'all because of that just can't go on but this time of year, we wouldn't have to tell her I staff to be on a will you be watching for guys who is showing signs that they were about to commit suicide because they would become suicidal because they were locked away from their families and locked with did this is how Christmas can affect you the seasons can affect you if you don't have the Prince of Peace. The water was crystal clear and you can see the reflection of the mountains on the water and the mountains were so beautiful. And so so see in the sky was perfect blue. They were just a hint of clouds and everything was so still and so beautiful that everyone looking at it thought. Wow. This is a perfect image of peace.

The other was also a picture of water but this was water that was moving fast. It was rushing down a water over over a cliff over a waterfall the sky was almost dark and gray. There was no sun to speak of they were clouds, but the clouds were even dark. And as the water rushed over the waterfall the team noticed that in the back of the waterfall, that was just a small bush. Then it began to grow through a crack in the rocks. I'm in that bush. There was a bird build a nest.

And the bird was there just resting and the King said this. Is the perfect picture of peace is it because real peace is not perfect and real peace is not when things up or are absolutely great. But real peace is when everything around you doesn't look good. It doesn't feel good and everything is Raging and you still have found a place to rest. That's real. Peace. did you know that piece is actually a fruit or a characteristic of the Holy Spirit? Now one of the things I tell you all the time when you received the Holy Spirit who he is accepting Jesus as your savior. When you receive the Holy Spirit, guess what there's only one Holy Spirit. There's no bargain-basement. Holy Spirit. There's no discount. Holy Spirit. My mother used to say I think so. I think some of these folks are getting the holy Goose cuz it don't look like they got the Holy Ghost.

But there's no there's no there's no so so so the holy spirit that lives in me. Is the same holy spirit that lives in you. Works in me and through me is the same. Holy spirit that works in and through you one of the biggest lies the devil has convinced the world up today. Is that some house because got a title you got more Holy Ghost. If that was true wouldn't have so many people with titles. I can't live, right? My Lord my Lord my Lord. Oh, yeah.

The Bible tells us in and Galatians chapter 5 verses 22 and 23 inches, but the fruit of the spirit is love joy peace, patience kindness goodness, faithfulness gentleness self-control against those things. There is no law. So it tells us that that that when you receive the Holy Spirit guess what you received you received. Peace.

You receive not at all. Why are people who have peace who ever seen peace? I'm needing to take antidepressants. I don't know. I don't know why so many people who have received the principal they've accepted them in their heart and I'm going to give you a hint as to why in a moment, but I'm telling you it's hard for me to understand how we have so much trepidation and how we have so much to so many things outside of us to affect us. when we have the Prince of Peace living in US

Here's what I want you to understand that some of us have accepted Jesus Christ, and we have peace with God, but we don't have the peace of God. There's a difference between having peace with God. He says his voice says be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension will go and your minds in Christ Jesus. You know, that's how you started off by saying be anxious for nothing and then he gives you the cure for anxiety.

This piece will not what is the word of God meaning means to protect. So why then why then? Do we have so many people who are struggling with anxiety who is struggling with so many things? I'm very sure you Colossians says this last at 3:15. Let the Peace of Christ Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts To which indeed you were called and one body and be thankful Let the Peace of Christ rule in your heart. So now we told you that were let anytime you see that word let when the Bible says it says let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, right? And now he says Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts. So what does that mean? It means that you have a part and how you experience peace because you have to allow the peace of God that have rulership in your heart and other words every time you start feeling anxiety about something every time the devil tries to tell you is not going to work out in your favor. You look him in the eye and tell him that's a lie. That's a lie. The only thing I don't know is the wind that's all. I don't know. I don't know when that's going to do this and sometimes I don't even know how he's going to do it. But here's what I know.

But I have to allow the peace of God. I have to listen listen life is full of challenges life is full of things that are going to try to distract you life is full think and sometimes I just tell you sometime. It ain't life. Sometimes it's just people

Sea life see what life happens. It means that I probably made a bad mistake. I probably made him, you know, I probably met bad judgment. I just that's life happening when a storm comes through tears the roof off the house the day after your insurance expired that's life happening. You understand I'm saying, But there's some stuff you go through. That's just because the people you allow in your life. I wish I could help somebody. And see if you allow the wrong people in your life. You're going to have a hard time being a piece because there's some folks that there on assignment from the Devil. narp Steelers They think they have nothing but trouble Nation nothing but trouble and they don't mind sharing it and the way you know, you're around them. Is that every time you get around them?

How you doing? Where are you know, I woke up this morning and my back just wasn't feeling right and then when I got ready to get out the bed, my knees wasn't feeling right. Why don't you just stay in the bed? Why am I talking to you?

Because guess what? It's hard to be thankful while you're complaining.

Look at this is a Roman says Romans 8:6. For the Mind Set On the flesh is death, but the Mind Set On the spirit is life and peace. The Mind Set On the flesh is death, but the Mind Set On the spirit is life in peace. So so we'll talk about that. The peace of God will guard your heart in mind. It's hard for God to guard your heart in mind when you're allowing stuff in your mind that destroys peace. Somebody asked me to said somewhat you you don't get to see horror movies cuz you scared. I said no, I don't get to see horror movies cuz I got to get a sense.

This is what we were doing. I said where the Bible tells me that God has not given you the spirit of fear. But of power love and a sound mind I said the reason you're crazy is cuz you going looking for something to God didn't give you. You actually go on seeking a spirit of fear. And then you wondering why you so scared you wonder why you so full of trepidation. You wonder why every time the slightest thing goes wrong you about to lose your mind. Because you've allowed things to come in and steal your peace. When I was when I was sick, my wife can tell you when I was sick and I was laying there not knowing what I was going to live or die. I have become almost Robert. I become almost brutally rude. People come to the hospital to see me they walk in the room and all I'm telling you. I was looking bad. I was emaciated. I lost all this weight. I was I lost I lost something like 40 lb in 30 days. I mean I was I was fading fast. I'm laying in bed all look like Skin and Bones and they coming in they start crying. And I just look at him get out. Get out get out get out. I don't have time to deal with you. Because I'm in the middle of contending for something that doesn't allow me to deal with somebody in their issues right now. And sometimes I think we don't do enough to protect God's investment God's investment in you is peace, and you can't allow people and situations and things to destroy that piece it have to become so valuable to you that you are wanting to get away from me.

I'm trying to help you now.

Final final point is the biggest reason you should have peace because Jesus personally guarantees our peace. Jesus himself. Now, let me ask you something. Let me ask you something. Ask question. I want to see if y'all know your Bible. Does business God lie?

Would you say Robert? It cannot lie is the difference between God does not lying God cannot lie that I sound like semantics than it but it's a semantic that makes a world of difference. Here's the difference. God does not lie means that I just never have known him to lie. God cannot lie means that the moment he says it it becomes true whether it was true before he said it or not.

I just don't know how this is going to turn out. I just you know, I know God is in control, but what I tell you when people say God is in control, but what did you say?

I got a call early this week. I forget what day it was Don and I were having lunch and I got a call on my way. I was on the highway and it was my older brother telling me that my biological dad. He said that they don't know how much longer day is going to last I said, okay.

Last night my sister called me to tell me that her son. My nephew was in the hospital because he had an infection in his brain.

She said so I just want to let you know what's going on. Okay?

Why am I what what what what causes that? Because time and time of Gone God has never let me down. And I've learned to just rest.

Whatever happens he's in control. Friend of mine call me one time told me that her hers her sister and her cousin was in the hospital and she said she was all frantic and I went. Okay. Well, I was wondering if we can go to the hospital pray for no.

I said she's an hour north. I got to go hours south. I don't have time to turn around.

So what am I going to do? I said there's nothing you can do. I said there's something. Can do. She's a really I said yes as in the Bible says Jesus sent his word and healed them. I said what room is she in? She told me as what hospital is she in she told me. I said watch this. I began to pray. I called her full name. I called out the room. She was in the hospital. I said my father we send your word. We ask that your word will go before us and that your word would heal her. Is it called a hospital? And call me back and tell me what you found out. Little did. I know that while we were praying that already pulled the plug have pronounced or did She called back 10 minutes later screaming in the phone.

What's wrong with you?

I said, okay.
