Grace
Grace
we are always trying hard to get it right. We don’t want to mess up or get it wrong!
work hard! do what is right and everything will be ok.
That isn’t always true. How many times do we feel inadequate? how many times do we feel like we don’t measure up. We compare ourselves so easily. There can be a lot of pressure.
Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
For no person will be justified (made righteous, acquitted, and judged acceptable) in His sight by observing the works prescribed by the Law. For [the real function of] the Law is to make men recognize and be conscious of sin [not mere perception, but an acquaintance with sin which works toward repentance, faith, and holy character].
But now the righteousness of God has been revealed independently and altogether apart from the Law, although actually it is attested by the Law and the Prophets,
Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who believe. For there is no distinction,
Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives.
[All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,
Jesus expanded the law when we taught that we could sin without even doing anything. By desiring what isn’t ours, by impurity in our hearts.
So by the law we are all condemned. Some of us got caught other got away with it but still we all have sinned! It won’t be through our own goodness that we will receive grace.
But Grace is a free gift from God to bring us into His glorious light to shine His life on and through our lives. That the true and real you will reflect Jesus Christ
Romans 3:20
Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who believe. For there is no distinction,
Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives.
[All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,
There is no way that in our doing good can we be justified! Nothing can clear us except Jesus’s blood shed on the cross.
Why?
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Grace is not free! It is though a certificate that removes all accusations and covers us from all our wrongdoing. Grace wasn’t cheap. Because we have received Grace we now life a life of thanksgiving and Joy. Let your Joy be full!.
Because of Jesus the pressure is off! The weight has been lifted! No longer under condemnation
For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;
Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
This morning I want to ask you to invite the grace of God into your hearts! It is free! receive it and give it away!
