IN these scriptures we see that joy is something that come from either God or jesus

when we did the fruit of the spirit last year we saw that joy was one of the segments of the fruit

so as we look in scriptures we see that before christ we see joy came from God
whilst Jesus was on earth joy came from Jesus
when Christ assended into glory and sent the gift of the Holy spirit then joy came as part of a package that was inparted to them that both believed and followed after the teachings of Christ.

The experience of deliverance and the anticipation of salvation provide the most significant occasions for rejoicing among the people of God in the OT.
The coming of the Messiah, who delivers his people and brings salvation becomes the basis for rejoicing in the NT.
