Photo’s at Christmas Time.
Photo’s at Christmas Time.
I don’t know what it is about this time of year, and I don’t know if it happens to you the same. But without fail, your with a bunch of family or friends, and off the book shelf comes an old photo album! Does this happen at anybody else’s house or this just me? It’s its mom or Dad, or even worse, a sibling pulls out those baby pictures, and flips to the one where youre buck naked in the sink “ Oh, theres Garth in the sink again. What a cutie, dont ever know what happened!!”
And you look back and you reminisce about the “good ol’ days” Which is so funny when you hear a teenager talk about the good ol’ days. And its like, dude… that was last year.”
Like Caleb Schroeder when his voice dropped three octaves in one year… It went from “ Hey whats up guys!! To… “Hey..... WHats up… guys...”
I have a couple classics here. Not all that old!!
But its good to look back and see the good times, and its even better to live today, and I’ve it for all its worth.
I know a lot of you have school, jobs, chores, and anxiety seems to be this thing that everybody is talking about “ I have anxiety issues, or I deal with anxiety. And God’s heart for you especially in this time of life, is not to look back and say “those were the days” but rather that you would live life for today, to cast off your troubles and to live in Joy!
speaks to the young.
Ecclesiastes is a book that speaks to both the good and the bad of life, but more closely to the meaning of life,
in the first three verses He says some things that would see outright contradictory.
He starts off with th
“ however long you live, enjoy your life… and then “ Everything to come is meaningless.”
What is He trying to say?
Solomon knew something that we al know. Life is short. And nobody holds tomorrow. Everything to come is meaningless… what does that mean? One day, and I hope for you all that it is a long long long time from now, but one day, none of us will be here. Adn our great great great grand kids will look through that photo album and ask who that was in the picture… And someone will say, “ Well, that is your great great great grandpa Garth Vion, and that little person will say… “Oh.” and turm the page, and then ask to play video games.
One day my life will be of very litte consequence in the light of eternity. With that knowledge in mind, the writer wanted to encourage all of us that, each day we ive, should be lived with meaning, purpose… and joy! Each day we have is a gift.
Solomon said “ Let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.”
How many of you have been starving yourself of joy, because you wont let your heart go there… Let it Go there!!!
Furthermore How many of you have dream and aspirations that come to your heart, and you see things that you would like to accomplish? Dream a dream!! Let the joys of your life be quenched by the fullness of friendship and experiences.
And then know that for everything done in this life, God will bring into judgement
