Live your life as though you are making an impact for time and eternity.
We are not afforded a lot of time on this earth, so the life that we do have should be spent utilizing it wisely. Go ahead and life your best life enjoying every day as it is your last, but don’t forget that while you are living it up that there is purpose to your existence that goes beyond your own interest. As a preacher I have had the opportunity to attend a number of funerals and home-goings. And there is a place in our serves when the people get to talk about the deceased. (Preach) We should not live to impress to to impact. And then the question what are we leaving our children? Including in our family, communities, and church. There is less than a 0.08% chance your child will become a professional athlete, there is 0.09% chance they will become a famous celebrity, to being a millionaire is 6.4%. But, there is a 100% chance that they will stand before God and have to give an account. What are you doing with your life? How will others remember you? What are you leaving your children an loved one? These are questions concerning the word “Legacy”. In the genealogy of Jesus we have no shortage of legacy, both good and bad. For this message we are going to look at a few and see what we can learn to leave a lasting legacy.
Righteousness over Riches
Righteousness over Riches
Jesus says in that, "Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.” But a society where success is measured by tangibles its difficult to understand that life is more than we see. There are many parables and examples of men in the Bible who see their heart to fulfill their greed instead of seeking after God. And immediately the first person we see who prioritized righteousness of riches was King David. (preach on David including Solomon. Remember Righteousness through repentance)
Prayer and Worship over Worry
Prayer and Worship over Worry
If there is one thing I remember about my late Grandmother on my father’s side is times when I would see her get down on her knees and pray at the end of her bed. There is something amazing about prayer.
