Matthew 1:23 KJV 1900

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Weve went down through the OT and covered some of the prophecy that said he would come

Last week we covered where he was crucified nad the veil was rent from top to bottom. some of the Miracles that Jesus did and moved all the way to the crucifixion of our Lord

If I can give you my heart this week and the Lord allows I want to preach to you on the Burial and the ressurection

If with the help of God if I can succeed I want you to understand 1 promise that is enough for you sinner friend. GOD IS WITH US!

The Bible says in verse 57

Matthew 27:57 KJV 1900

57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:

Prophecy was being fulfilled

Isaiah 53:9 KJV 1900

9 And he made his grave with the wicked, And with the rich in his death; Because he had done no violence, Neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Notice it was Joseph a rich man and Nicodemus a Pharisee who came and begged the body of Jesus

It wasn't one of the 12 who had followed him so closely

It was one who belonged to the Sanhedrin Court and a Ruler of the Jews that cared enough to take him down and anoint his body and wrapped him up in a clean linen cloth

Notice in verse 61 that there were only 2 mourners present at the sepulcher

1 was Mary Magdelene of whom Jesus had cast out the 7 demons and the mother of Jesus

Not one flower, not one card, No one to speak of his goodness, not one song was sung, and only 2 mourners are recorded in Gods word

Matthew 27:62 KJV 1900

62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

It was the day of preparation for the passover and rather tending to their duties all they could think about was making sure this tomb was secure

Pilate told them to make it secure as they could and set a watch

Id hate have been one of those soldiers standing there at attention with my eyes wide open, Knees a knocking, teeth chattering

Everyone had gone home, Everybodys heart was saddened, His disciples gathered over there in a house somewhere and said what are we gonna do.

Peter and James and John said I done sold my boat. We in trouble now boys what are we gonna do

Luke said I can go back to being a doctor I guess

Matthew said O Lord you mean I got to go back to collecting taxes again, I just thought everbody hated me before

Hes Dead, Hes Dead

When something is dead theres only one thing to do and thats to Bury it and thats what they did.

1 Corinthians 15:51–57 KJV 1900

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
