Crown - King

The first thing you should always do when you open a cracker is put on the crown.
put on the crown
The crown reminds us that Jesus was born a King forever.
Luke 1:30–33 NIV - Anglicised
But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favour with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; his kingdom will never end.”
Luke
Luke 1:28–33 NIV - Anglicised
The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
Every King or Queen is only a King or a Queen whle they live.
But Jesus is King forever!

the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

He is the Son of God,
He is the King that has been promised by God throughout all of history in the Bible!
Since the creation of the world, we have all wanted to be our own kings.
I want 5 biscuits,
I want loads of Christmas presents.
I want to do what I want to do,
I want a nice holiday,
A well paid job.
I want to beat up my brother
But what we need is a king who isn’t like us.
We need a King who can lead us into a life that is pleasing to God.
So when you put on a christmas cracker crown this year,
Remmeber that Jesus is the real King.
We want to serve Him, not ourselevs.

Gift - Saviour

Luke 2:8–11 NIV - Anglicised
And there were shepherds living out in the fields near by, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
Now you might be wondering why we would want to serve Jesus as King? - remember the crown.
Well this is why.
Becasue He is the most amazing Gift from God in all the world.
show the toy
luk 2 8-
Becasue he is, as the angels told the shepherds:
Good News of great Joy, he is the saviour!
Saviour is a funny word,
all it means is that he saves us.
Remember we said we wanted to wear our own crowns,
I want, I want, I want,
Well we need forgiveness from God for doing what ‘I want’ instead of what ‘he wants’.
And that is what Jesus gives us.
Forgiveness.
When Jesus grew up people killed him and hung him on a wooded cross.
He didn’t do anything worng,
he always did what God wanted.
(never what he wanted)
So when he died as a perfect man,
he took the punishment we deserve in our place.
So God doesnt punish us, he punishes Jesus.
And Jesus gives us, a gift - He gives us his love from God,
We can now be friends with God, we’re saved!
What a great gift.
Friendship with God,
saved to live with the best King Jesus, forever!
So when you open your cracker and find your gift,
remember that Jesus saves,
he gives us life forever with God.
What a great gift.

Joke - Message

What says Oh Oh Oh? Santa walking backwards!
16-18
What do you call Santa's little helpers? Subordinate clauses!
Why are Christmas trees so bad at sewing? They always drop their needles!
Did Rudolph go to school? No. He was Elf-taught!
Luke 2:16–18 NIV - Anglicised
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
Why did Santa go to the doctor? Because of his bad "elf"!

Mum’s and Dad’s we really do believe in this King Jesus,
His forgiveness of sins by dying in our place,
so that he can give us the greatest gift, life forever with a loving God.
And so that is why we spread the message.
I’d really encourage you to find out more about the truth of Christianity,
