What is Heaven?

Presently, Heaven is where God dwells

Matthew 6:9 NASB95
“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
Isaiah 66:1 NASB95
Thus says the Lord, “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest?
God is still Omnipresent, but Heaven is the place where God especially manifests his presence.

Heaven is a place:

The New Testament teaches an idea of location for heaven (,)
Acts 1:9 NASB95
And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
Acts 1:11 NASB95
They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”
Stephen gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus ()
Acts 7:55–56 NASB95
But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; and he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
Heaven is the place where Jesus in his physical resurrection body lives.
Jesus said that he would go and prepare a place in )
John 14:2 NASB95
“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.

Physical Creation will be Renewed and We will continue to exist and act in it

God will make a new earth

and
2 Peter 3:13 NASB95
But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
Revelation 21:1 NASB95
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
Romans 8:19–21 NASB95
For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
It is debated whether the old heaven and earth will be destroyed or remade
regardless, there is much more for believers

Our Resurrection Bodies will be part of the Renewed Creation

1 Cor. 15
1 Corinthians 15:45–49 NASB95
So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.
Matthew 6:19–21 NASB95
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21
