A. The Incarnation of the Divine Son of Man.
For unto us a Child is Born, to us a son is given.
“For unto us a Child is Born” shouldn’t surprise us.
Baby’s are born everyday.
It is not to say that every baby conceived is not precious and sacred.
But simply it is a common and everyday occurrence.
I look at a room full of people who were all baby’s in their mother’s arms at one time.
That is not what is remarkable about this verse.
What is remarkable is that “a son is given”!
Because of context and this statement - the baby that is born is not simply human, but divine.
The “son of man” has long been a name for the Divine savior and messiah.
So this child that is born will be both -
Human and God.
The creator of the World,
was promised to be born into an insignificant human.
Now,
there is much that can be said about Christ being fully human and being fully God.
But let’s stay focus on the Birth.
