Both in the OT and in the NT faith is a basis for confidence. Faith is a means by which confidence in Christ matures and blessings flow.

I. Confidence by faith in the OT

II. Confidence by faith in the NT

Romans 1:16–17 ESV

1. Confidence through faith

2. Confidence is for those who persevere in their faith

3. Confident faith shows itself in action

III. Blessings of confidence received through faith

1. Peace with God

2. Forgiveness

3. Victory over death

John 11:25–27 ESV
