We have been talking about these things that make up what we kind of think of as the Christmas spirit.
These four words that sort of define the Christmas story.
We have talked about what these things looked like to people when the story was written

Today is love.
I have trouble with this word if IM being honest.
Its one of the hardest ones to talk about.
I have a lot of trouble with it.
It just seems meaningless from overuse.
I remember when I was growing up people would say the bible is “god’s love note to you” and it made me not want to read it.
kind of Cheesey, like the bible is a hallmark movie (no offence to hallmark movies!)
Its funny because this is probably the most important word in the bible.
Right paul Says now what remains is Faith hope and love and the greatest of these is love.

For god so loved the world
It just seems meaningless from overuse.

Y - We discount love, but it is a fundamental human need
Trans: I dont think I am the only one.
We sort of take this word for granted.
We love Grandma, pizza, and the Packers in the same breath.
And no one needs to hear in what order.
IT can become almost meaningless from overuse.
Clearly the bible means something more with this world than Taylor Swift.
Because if the bible is really a love story.
How do we reclaim that love?

God shows us what true love looks like
He shows us that the world is organized around this principal
This love stands at the center of the universe
sometimes our actions show the story
Reclaim love by grounding yourself in God's love and sharing it with others

Jesus’ Story in Luke Challenges all of these worldviews.

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.

6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.
