Christmas Party
Christmas Party
Good evening everyone. I hope that you are enjoying the party so far. i want to thank you again for taking the time to come and join us. When we think about Christmas, what comes to mind? Santa clause, presents, singing songs. For me it is the coming of the end of the year and it is a time for me to review my life for the year so far. And sometimes when I think of the year that has just past, I feel like I wish I could have a better year or I wished I had made better decisions. I wish i was happier. Have you felt like that before? i felt like that for many years of my life. And I would end the year feeling quite sad. I keep thinking that i want a better life.
But when I look back at my life, some years are not very bad year of my life. But I feel like there is something missing in my life. I feel okay when I’m with my friends. But it is when I am alone that I feel like there is something really missing in my life and I cannot explain what is it. I asked this question for many years in my life but I could not find it. it made me very tired in my life.
So what has this got to do with Christmas? It was many years ago when I was searching for that missing part of my life that I heard about the real meaning of Christmas. Christmas tells us about the coming of Jesus
Are you lost too, just like I was with no purpose of direction in life and I did not what to do with my life. In order to know what is your purpose, you need to know the one who created you. because the one who created you created you with a purpose. Everything in creation is made with a purpose. Without purpose, there is no meaning in life.
I think that different people struggle with different things in life. But i believe that people struggle with one of these things.
Unforgiveness
Purpose
Hopelessness
How does Christmas address these issues?
What is Christmas about?
Christmas is about the day that Jesus was born. Who is Jesus? Jesus is the Son of God. And is Jesus God? Yes, Jesus is God since Jesus is the son of God. So when Jesus came. God actually became man. Why did God do that?
17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Well it is because in the beginning, God made man and man actually had a relationship with God. God gave man direction and a purpose for life.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Man is sinful and and separated from God which causes us not to be able to know God and his love.
Well it is because in the beginning, God made man and man actually had a relationship with God. God gave man direction and a purpose for life. But one day man sinned against God and did what God told man not to do. And from that day on, man was separated from God and man decided to live out of God’s plan for his life. From that day on man was lost without God. From that generation on all of man that is born is born in sin. We all sin naturally. Do you have to teach your child to lie? No you don’t. They seem to be able to do it naturally. Because of the sin in man. There is suffering and pain in the world. People kill each other, cheat each other and blame each other. And without God,
But one day man sinned against God and did what God told man not to do. And from that day on, man was separated from God and man decided to live out of God’s plan for his life. And without God in our lives,

Gen 1:
But one day man sinned against God and did what God told man not to do. And from that day on, man was separated from God and man decided to live out of God’s plan for his life. From that day on man was lost without God. From that generation on all of man that is born is born in sin. We all sin naturally. Do you have to teach your child to lie? No you don’t. They seem to be able to do it naturally. Because of the sin in man. There is suffering and pain in the world. People kill each other, cheat each other and blame each other. And without God in our lives, we do not know how to do what is right. In todays culture, to many people. There is no right and wrong. Your right and wrong is different from my right and wrong. But deep down inside our hearts we know that lying, gossiping, fighting is wrong but this is what is see in our own lives and all those around us. But we can’t seem to stop doing them. And many times we feel guilty. This tells us that we have a conscience, and where does this conscience come from? God made us in his image. God is righteous. In this world, all humans are sinful and separate from God.
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
2. God loves you and created you to know him personally.
And because God loves us even though we have rebelled against God. God sent his Son to come to be born as a human being to pay for our sins.
When Jesus came into this world, Jesus led a sinless life. Jesus showed us the way to God.
21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
All of us have to pay for the sins that we have committed in our lives when we die. Your sins cannot be erased by doing good things. That is why it says that the wages of sin is death. Spiritual death.
3. Jesus is the way to God and eternal life.
And because we cannot pay the price of death for ourselves, we need someone to pay it for us. And that is what Jesus did for us. Jesus died on the cross for us. Jesus took all of our sins past present and future and nailed it to the cross with him as he died on the cross.
But on the third day, Jesus rose from the dead.
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.
1 Cor 15
Jesus did not just die on the cross, but Jesus came back to life on the third day. Jesus had victory over death.
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
If we believe in Jesus and accept what he has done for us. God promises us that we will get to know God. We will know the way the truth and the life. We will know what we should and should not do in our lives. we will have a purpose. And most importantly, we will know the one who loves us. Our heavenly father who gave us life and knows our name and has a plan for our lives. We have also received forgiveness from the things we have done wrong in our lives. And because Jesus paid the price for us. We don’t have to be afraid of death anymore. Jesus promises us eternal life after we die. We will be with God in heaven.
Purpose gives us meaning in life
4. We need to receive Jesus Christ as our saviour and Lord.
12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
We receive Christ through faith.
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Rev
Jesus is at the door of our hearts now and he is asking us if we will be willing to allow him into our lives. If we want to receive God into our lives, we need to repent and trust Jesus to come into our lives to forgive us of our sins and help us to live the lives that he has planned for us. Are you willing to make a decision to want to know God in your life?
What is the worst thing that could happen if you receive Christ and you find out that all this is not true? If what I am saying to you is a lie and all of us Christians here are all liars, then you should just leave if that is the truth. We cannot force you to believe in God.
But if what we say is true and you miss this chance to know God and have a relationship with God. You will have to pay for your sins and you will not have salvation that Jesus is offering to you.
