Effective meeting

Fundamentals - what is the purpose of the meeting

What is the work of the ministry?

Ephesians 4:11–16 ESV
11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
Work is done when the ball is moving the ball down the field
Work of the ministry is: Where are lives being changed and transformed
Worker is one who does work
Meetings is preparing the team to do work
Meetings do not get the work done
Individuals what to accomplish
Efficient- Is this the best way to transfer information. The last couple of meetings
Targeted- needs too be the whole group
purposeful- we are moving towards work
Timely
E. M. should only convey only pertinent information “ Who, what, where, and when.”
How do we do it better together
Everyone needs to come away with what their job is. Like the next play of a football team, Every player knows where to go. What their role is and how they are going to get the ball down the field. They go to the ball and execute the play.
Values or strategy and expense

Three Meeting Modes

Presentation- info meeting exchanged
Leader needs to be prepared
Audience needs to listen and ask question to clarify
No questions that are going to chase rabbit trails
Budget- heres our financial numbers. Here is our numbers and here is what we need to be
We need to share pertinent information
Problem solving Mode-
Clearly identify the issues
Define success- what does success look like when when we solve the issue?
Propose and refine
Assign Task Responsibilities and Timelines
Stay away from trying to solve problems that take away from the agenda. may need to come back later
Ineffective-
Lack of accurate information
Lack of expertise
Lack of sufficient authority
Failure to prioritize opinions, not everyone has the expertise to give their opinion.
When switching modes let the rest of the group know.

Eph 3:14

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:14–19 ESV
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
