The Messenger (26)

The Christmas story is
Gabriel. One of the two angels mentioned by name in the Bible (the other is Michael).
Many would call him the messenger angel.
2. Mary (27-29)

The Virgin Mary (27-29)

Who was she?
she was espoused to a man name joseph
betrothal stage of marriage
from Nazereth
she wasn’t very wealthy, they gave to pigeons for a sacrifice
Her Reaction to the Angel.
As the angel approached her, she pondered in her mind....

Gabriel’s Message (30-33)

She Found Favor with God. Acceptance, grace.
31-33. She was to give birth to a King, whose throne would be forever!!!!!
Great News, but there is one little problem,
Mary says, “I’ve never known a man”

The Miracle (34-37)

She would be conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Elizabeth is also pregnant in her old age, and she was barren...

Mary’s Mindset (38)

behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it unto me according to thy word!
Whatever you say, may it come to pass within me.
I’m just a vessel for you!
she didn’t worry about finances, public disgrace, the fact that this had never happened before, what Joseph would do, or say. She Just trusted God and was willing for him to use her.

And he said, “O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.” And as he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
