Who Is The Reason For the Season

Each of us has a GOD sized void in our souls

God uses people to fill this void

Man uses other things to fill this GOD sized void

No man has a full revelation of God’s love

WE NEED to see and experience His love to love like He loves.

1. GOD IS LOVE

1 John 4:16 KJV 1900

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

It’s His nature. It is who He is.

2. DESCRIPTION OF GOD’S LOVE

1 Corinthians 13:4–8 NKJV

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

3. GOD’S LOVE IS UNEARNED AND UNDESERVED

Romans 5:6–8 KJV 1900

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

My son was born - I sat on the steps of the church I was raised in the faith as said God don’t let my son grow up like I did. God made me think of how much I loved my son.

I HAD NEVER SPOKEN TO MY SON.

HE DIDN’T DO ANYTHING FOR ME. HE WAS A LOT OF WORK AND COST ME A GREAT DEAL

HE DIDN’T GIVE ME ANYTHING.

BUT I LOVED HIM.

GOD SAID AS MUCH AS YOU LOVE HIM I LOVE YOU AND HIM MORE.

4. GOD’S LOVE IS NEW EVERY MORNING

Lamentations 3:22–23 NIV

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

5. GOD’S LOVE IS AFFIRMING

Matthew 3:17 KJV 1900

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

6. LOVE REJOICES IN THE TRUTH. IT SPEAKS TRUTH IN LOVE

Truth spoken in love hurts the speaker and the hearers.

If it is easy, it might be venting.

Truth spoken in love is for the hearers benefit.

Asked when it would stop hurting when someone falls into sin.

When it stops HURTING is when you've lost your effectiveness.

Look for the gold

Don't be like Satan and be an adviser of the brethren

Love covers a multitude of sin.

Love sees and believes the best.

My wife was thinking how cute I was.

I felt like a melting snowman, who looked more like the Michelin man that a mighty man.

9. LOVE COMPELS US

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

Christ’s love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do. Our firm decision is to work from this focused center: One man died for everyone. That puts everyone in the same boat.

Love does what is required.

10. LOVE LEADS TO REPENTANCE

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

REVELATION OF GOD’S LOVE WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Lord, give us a deeper richer understanding of your love.
