Intro: God blesses us in many ways. One of his many blessings from his love is the privilege of being in his presence. The fact that God desires to fellowship with his creation and be involved with our salvation is just amazing. As we celebrate Christmas we celebrate Emanuel, Jesus Christ. Knowing that God is with us is blessing beyond measure. To know the Lord is near is a great promise of God that is fulfilled in Jesus, God is with us.
Let us reflect on the Lord’s love toward us. The blessing of his loving presence and our response to God’s loving embrace presence.

Mary is blessed to be God to be the mother of Christ.

The angel Gabriel visited Mary and told her of how she would have the Son of the Most High.
Mary is so overwhelmed by the magnitude of this prophecy she does not understand how this can all be possible.
Being a virgin and being pregnant.
Being chosen by God to carry the son of God.
The angel tell her of how God has blessed here relative Elizabeth is with child in her old age.
36 What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month.
God’s great love can not be stop. Love never fails. God’s word never fails. God can not be stopped. Nothing is greater than our God. God’s word is true that he can make dead womb alive and a virgin pregnant.
19 God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

If God said it was to come it will be done. Mary hold this word in her heart with great excitement to share this joy with her relative. Joy shared is joy doubled.

This leads us to our text of focus for today. We look at how the presence of Jesus, just the mere presence of Jesus brings blessings in our life.
We will examine in God’s love for us how:
God never fails.
God will complete what he says he will do.
The angel speaks God’s word in truth to Elizabeth.
Mary will see confirmation in Elizabeth.
She goes with excitement to see the promise of the Lord and will know of the joy for herself.
This leads us to our text of focus for today. WE look at how the presence of Jesus, just the mere presence of Jesus brings blessings in our life.
39 A few days later Mary hurried to the hill country of Judea, to the town 40 where Zechariah lived. She entered the house and greeted Elizabeth. 41 At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, “God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed. 43 Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me? 44 When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy. 45 You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said.”
The setting tells us of the family. Mary and Elizabeth are of the tribe of Judah and shows how they are related. She goes in a hurry to the residence of Elizabeth to celebrate what God is doing in her life and for the salvation of the kingdom.

The kingdom of God is present because the son of God is present.
Mary welcome the Son of God and was looking to share the Love of Jesus with others.
41 At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
At the sound of the of Mary’s greeting the atmosphere shifted in this place.
Just by her voice the
Elizabeth was filled with the spirit.
The baby in her womb leaped.
When we confess Jesus as our Lord we receive the Holy Spirit.

The blessing of God’s presence is demonstrated in our faith in him and knowing salvation.
This faith should have a response of repentance.

Our life should be changed by our submission to the will of God.

Mary and Elizabeth life change by their submission to God’s will.

When we submit to worship the Lord by our life we come to know the Lord in better and more intimate way.
There is joy to know the lord for yourself.

Notice how the blessing of the Lord’s presence in his mothers womb changed everything.
The sound of your greeting made the baby John filled with the Holy Spirit, in his mother’s womb jump for joy.
When Mary walked into the room beholding Jesus everything changes.
Jesus presence in the world changed eternity.

Jesus came to deliver us from our sin.
The greatest gift is Jesus love for us.
Fill the love of Jesus in your life. Embrace Jesus presence in your life and know the power of his everlasting life.
