John 3:16–21 NIV84
16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

1. The life of Jesus is a message of love

The season of giving
The season of love
The season of family gatherings
It is a message of love

2. Love gives us a choice

John 1:11–12 NIV84
11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
God allows us to choose to follow Him
God does not force us to love Him
The choice is not, “if you love me, you will...”
We are free to choose

3. Love forgives all sins

John 1:29 NIV84
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
God is not waiting for us to be sinless
God takes the mess and makes a message
God takes the test to create a testimony

4. Love gives life to all who believe

1 John 4:9 NIV84
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
Those who believe will live
We must be born again to see the Kingdom of God
We must be born of the Spirit
Just like a mother’s love will give birth to a child the Love of God will give us eternal life

5. God demonstrates His love for us by giving Jesus to die for us

1 John 4:9 NIV84
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
Romans 5:8 NIV84
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God did not wait for us to believe
God did not wait for us to sinless
God chose us while we were in our sin
His love did not leave us in our sin
