INTRODUCTION: In the first century, Judaism could be found in most of the principal cities of the Roman Empire. Facts cannot deny that a major factor in the influence of Judaism was their high regard for public worship. (church.)
A Christian church that is weak in attendance at public worship, but strong in witnessing to the saving power of Christ— NOT---It never existed!
We cannot expect non-Christians to get excited about churches and individuals who fail to take Christ’s commission seriously.

THE TEXT POINTS OUT SOME THINGS WHICH ARE MANIFESTED BY THE HABITUAL NEGLECT OF CHURCH ATTENDANCE:

A faithless practice—“forsaking the assembling.”

A harmful influence—“as the manner of some is.”

An opportunity slighted—“exhorting one another.”

Heedless of judgment—“see the day approaching.”

SAINTS SHOULD REGARD PUBLIC WORSHIP AS THEIR FINEST MOMENT, BECAUSE IT OFFERS THE.

“Spiritual blessings in heavenly places,” tells us: All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

3All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

A designated rendezvous/get together/meeting/church, with the Lord, “For where two or three gather together as my followers, in my name, I am there among them.”

20For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

Satisfaction of seeing God’s will being done, “But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.”

Being an example of “old time religion,” “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.”

A means of following our Lord’s example, “When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue/church on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.

THE TERM: CHURCH MEANS “GOD’S ASSEMBLY.” WITHOUT CHURCH ASSEMBLY WE DO NOT MOVE FORWARD IN OUR FAITH, OUR BELIEVING, OUR LEARNING, OUR LISTENING AND OUR FOLLOWING CHRIST.

Christ could not have built His church without his followers/believers. Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

15Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. 18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

27for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know.

27 for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know.

18Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
28“So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.

The church was dearly purchased: “with his … blood,” for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know. 28 “So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.

27for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know.
28“So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.

The church is God’s means of revealing Himself,

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Who dares make attendance merely optional?

They decided to abandon the Temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they worshiped Asherah poles and idols instead! Because of this sin, divine anger fell on Judah and Jerusalem.
