The names of people and places in the Bible will often bear great significance – especially when there is a name change or when God chooses the name.

The name Jesus means “The Lord saves” or “Savior”.
His name should remind us of how he saved us from our sins every time it is said, spoken, heard, or thought of instead of being used to curse or swear.
