Finishing Well - It’s not how you start but how you finish

Introduction -
Rosewood
Most kings of Judah and Israel finished poorly
people who started and didn’t finish.
2 Timothy 4:1–7 KJV 1900
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
THREE VERY PERSONAL POINTS
Fight Your Fight – Only you can
Run Your Course – Forget the past and press toward the prize
Run Your Course – Forget the past and press toward the prizeKeep the Faith – Live strong and pass it on
Keep the Faith – Live strong and pass it on
What does your end game look like? For me…
I WILL CROSS THE FINISH LINE WITH ALL THOSE WHO I’M MEANT TO FINISH WITH.
Every person is unique precious and priceless. A one of a kind creation. There has never been nor will there ever be anyone just like you.
What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?
1. I will live a few minutes longer than my wife so I can care for her all the day of her life..
2. My sons will be men with strong character and skill sets who love God.
3. My church family will be filled with mature, God fearing, God honoring people who know I've loved them well.
4. I will enter into heaven and Moses, Joshua and Solomon will look for me because they want to talk with me about how faithful I was to God.
5. Jesus will say well done good and faithful servant.
FIGHT YOUR FIGHT - ONLY YOU CAN WE ALL HAVE A FIGHT
Fight for your relationships -
1. Value people highly and love them fiercely. I have so many great friends because the Lord has taught me to value people.
2. Earn the right to speak into other people's lives.
3. Live up to the honor of influencing people.
4. What if the gifts God entrusts to you aren't, your own? - Talents
2. Fight (from victory) The Enemy’s lies and deceptions
RUN YOUR RACE - FORGET THE PAST AND PRESS TOWARD THE PRIZE
Philippians 3:13 KJV 1900
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
1. Keep your focus on what is really important
(KJV) 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
2. Stay spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially fit.
Romans 15:1 KJV 1900
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
3. Stay who you are. Don't become a cheap copy for anyone or anything. Only you can be you. Nobody else has the ability.
KEEP THE FAITH - LIVE STRONG AND PASS IT ON
Some people are so afraid to die that they never live.
Let your light, faith, and life live strong.
Who is following you to church? To Christ?
Matthew 4:19 KJV 1900
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Matthew 10:42 KJV 1900
And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
Hebrews 6:10 KJV 1900
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Matthew 10:41–42 KJV 1900
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
