Superpowers

Superhero movies are trendy now. When I was a kid, I wanted to be Superman. The thought of flying, super strength, and blowing icicles out of my mouth was fascinating. I must have spent half of my childhood daydreaming about having one superpower or another.
There is a superpower available to Christians, though not one that would break the box office.

God is providing, even when you don’t feel like it.

Exposition
Paul experienced great need in his missionary endeavours.
The Philippians, though themselves experiencing poverty, helped him by sending Epaphroditus with money.
Paul recognized the medium (Philippians), but gave glory to the source (God) for his provision.
Principle: God will always meet your needs, and usually through someone.
Illustration
Queen Esther
Ram for Isaac ()
Think of every time someone met your need. That was God.
Application
Common Grace
Special Grace
“Every need”

You can be satisfied all the time.

I can do all things.
All things, in the passage, isn’t every possibility.
Illustration: Like Mike, if I could be like Mike.
The secret (12) is understanding what we truly need.
Satisfaction as Superpower
You, believer, can do something the world considers as strange as flying.
Application:
Poverty and Wealth
Single and Married ()
No children and a quiver full.
Scholarship and pay your way
Special Application: The benefit of fasting.

Are you satisfied?

If you aren’t in Christ.

If you are in Christ

You cannot be satisfied. You’re drinking from broken cisterns (). For you, I can’t get no satisfaction is true.
Your need is to come to the fountain of living waters ().
If you are in Christ
Acknowledge that God is meeting all of your needs.
Rest, be content, and be satisfied in what God has provided for you.
Look for the Giver not the gift.
Rest, be content, and be satisfied in what God has provided for you ().
Illustration: Family who tithed
$455...that’s how much we tithed to the church in the entire year of 2017. Prior to Financial Peace University in April, we had tithed a whopping $130. Since then [September 8, 2018], we have tithed $3,860 in 5 months! Our bills are still paid, our household still has plenty, and we aren’t deprived of ANYTHING. Actually, we are in better financial health than ever before. Paying down debt, saving money, and helping others more.
