Leadership #2
11/12/2003
-We have established that every Christian is to some point “a leader”.
-As a leader you will at some level be setting goals.
-I want to look at setting “Godly Goals”.
Read info from “the power of a purpose”
What makes a goal “godly”?
· It must flow out of God’s will/it will be in line with Scripture
· There is a passion/faith/life in the goal (there is a sense that you didn’t create it-you discovered it)
· It will be a blessing to people (it will help others)
(For instance, it can be a godly goal to create a business that provides jobs for others and at the same time blesses you.)
(Example with Doctor and broken finger)
· A godly goal stretches you and makes you grow personally in order to meet it.
· It requires faith-you can’t meet it by yourself even if you improve-God has to have a part in the partnership
· The best goals come out of your heart during prayer and worship
· Let it come alive before you share it
(someone said you have to hold on to a dream until it holds onto you)
-Set aside some time to pray and seek God about the following areas:
· Spiritual
· Social
· Physical
· Financial
· Family
· Ministry
· Etc.
