Paul begins praying giving thanks for what is taking place among the believers.
Paul begins to intercede on behalf of the believers.
Paul prays that they might comprehend what God has done for them.
Paul prays that believers would be wise and no truth.
This is not from intellectual achievement, but from knowing God personally through fellowship and union with him.
There is much more then we escape hell and get to live eternally with God.
He has given them a hope with assurance. Difference between wishing and hope.
God has blessed them in Christ with every spiritual blessings.
Every thing needed to complete them and give them the advantage in life has already been done.
Paul now prays that their eyes would be open to fully grasp the privileges that come from being in Christ..
To put it in modern term, it is like owning an expensive smart phone but all you do with it is make calls.
Paul does not pray for fresh spiritual blessings as if something was left out.
The moment he chose you, he exalted you.
The moment he chose you, he adopted you.
The moment he chose you, he redeemed you.
The moment he chose you, he sealed you with the promise of his Holy Spirit.
Paul doesn't pray as if they need something new or a fresher anointing. He simply prays that their eyes may be open to fully understand what privileges they have.
Often we put ourselves in the same boat with those who may be going through similar problems, but our hope is different.
Paul is praying for those who have received these special privileges from God would learn hope, glory and power.
