Introduction

Fasting and Prayer – January – Week 1
Bible Reading:
- Thanksgiving and praise to the Lord for all His goodness and benefits during past years towards us as individuals, families and a church.
- Thanksgiving for salvation and forgiveness of all past sins and unfaithfulness and the opportunity for a new beginning as individuals, families, a church.
- Thanksgiving for the provision and preservation of our lives and the gift of sound health – physical, mental, spiritual.
Bible Reading:
- Let’s prayer that 2019 shall be better than past years in every area of our lives
- The Lord will open new doors of opportunities for us – in ministry, career, finance
- The shall be no repetition of setback, failure and stagnancy in every area of our life in the new year.
Bible Reading:
- The grace of obedience shall be outpoured upon the Church – from the Leadership to families and individuals.
- . Presence of God through Unity of mind and purpose shall be apparent in the church. The Lord will cause divisions, strife and contention to end.
- . From the Leadership to the led, Self-will and pride shall be crucified, and Our will shall become bound to His will this year.
- . Power and tangible anointing that would contend with every work of the devil shall be evident in our church in the new year.
- . We shall not labour in vain this year, our labour shall be rewarded IJN
- . Our hope and expectation of God would do for us in the new year shall not be disappointed.
Bible Reading:
- There are many rewards of true and godly fasting. However, in the passage under consideration, ten specific rewards of the humbling, God’s chosen fast are mentioned.
Let’s pray for all of the rewards evident in this passage
- (1) The beginning of a glorious era in personal, family and community life ().
- (2) Speedy manifestation of healing, health and quick recovery ().
- (3) Righteous inspiration for courageous and confident living ().
- (4) Divine presence and glory protecting and shielding from the rear ().
- (5) Answered prayer and God’s prompt and sure response ().
- (6) Divine exaltation, honour and promotion ().
- (7) Divine guidance and direction on a continual basis ().
- (8) Divine preservation in evil and difficult times ().
- (9) Constant and consistent fruitfulness ().
- (10) Moral and spiritual restoration ().
