Praise God because He saves sinners.

Ephesians 1:1–6 ESV
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
The Word Blessed is the Greek word εὐλογητός
Ephesians 1:3–6 ESV
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.

(εὐλογητος), used here, which is made up of legō (λεγω), “to speak,” and eu (εὐ), “good,” thus, “to speak well of” (our word “eulogize”). The first speaks of character, the second of repute. Eulogētos (Ἐυλογητος) is used exclusively of God in the N.T. The verb of being is usually left out and is supplied by the reader or translator. It is, “Let the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be well spoken of, be eulogized.” When David says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul,” he is praising God, speaking well of God.

This is worship!

What drives worship?

Worship springs from a heart that understands who God is and what he has done!

What he knows about God causes him to erupt in praise.
If your worship is dull. I want to give you a promise it is directly related to your vision and understanding of God!
In the cacophony of praise Paul unpacks God’s glory and greatness.

God purposed the salvation of believers in eternity past.

Ephesians 1:4 ESV
4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love

Before you chose God through faith in Jesus Christ - God chose you before time began.
The word Chose - means to pick out someone or something.

to pick out someone or someth., choose (for oneself)

The word “Choose” is in the middle voice in the Original Language.
The Middle voice denotes self-interest. God chose not because he saw desirable qualities in us! He will make a great Awna Worker. He will make a great teacher - Preacher…
Have you ever watched the voice.
It is like pressing the botton on the voice and having your chair turn before you ever sing a note.
Moses teaches us something of the motivation behind why God chooses who he does.
Deuteronomy 7:6–8 ESV
6 “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. 7 It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, 8 but it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
God saves us not because of who we are but in spite of it.
I believe the doctrine of election, because I am quite sure that if God had not chosen me I should never have chosen him; and I am sure he chose me before I was born, or else he never would have chosen me afterwards.
When Paul speaks about this subject he talks not about something bad but beautiful!
This subject wasn’t give to give fodder for arguments among believes. It was give as a means of praising God for His goodness.
This is a blessing not a curse.
God saved me not because I was good but because He is.
God saves this way because it is all of Grace.
The gospel of Jesus Christ

God purposed our sanctification.

Ephesians 1:4 ESV
4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love

Therefore, the test of our election is the holiness of our lives.

I like what Harold J. Ockenga said:

The test of our election is the holiness of our lives.

God purposed our adoption.
