Our plans aren't always Gods plans (Devotion)

Our Plans

As people we have tendency to decide whats the best for us, to always look to the future

In fact we are 5 days into the new year and I guarantee everyone here has already made new years resolutions of what they want to do different and each one of us already have plans for this year

I want to read just one verse this evening

proverbs 16 9

Proverbs 16:9 ESV

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.

this verse is telling us as a child of God we may make plans in our heart but God leads our feet wherever the direction is he sees most fit

So I want us to all look at the plans we have already made for this year

some of them may happen some of them may not

what matters is God has a plan and its a plan that none of us can comprehend

We have 2 options

we can make the best possible plan we can think of and we can try to carry it out under our own power

Or we can carefully watch what we plan and allow God to carry out our plans

all this hinges on one thing.... faith that God has the best plan

In order to allow God to lead our plans and lead our lives we have to first lose faith in our plans and gain faith in Gods plan

God wont lead you’re life if you wont let him

So we are here looking at the new year. We cant see far into it

We don’t know whats going to happen

We don’t know what direction God will lead our lives in

The one new years resolution that truly deeply matters is are we allowing God to take control of our lives

Are we trusting God in every aspect of our new year

Are we allowing him to lead our plans or are we trying to lead them all alone.
