I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

As Paul described it here, Christian dedication involves three steps.
1. Converted

We all have heard the Gospel, but have we truthfully accepted it or even believe it. Have we been transform?
Paul urges his audience to respond to the message of the gospel as he explained in the letter.

why do I say that? Because that explain how we can hear the gospel every week and still live our life the same.
Love ones we must come to the understanding that it is only through God’s mercy that he have a chance at eternal life.
which brings us to today’s text:
I. commitment
I. commitment

Paul is says...
because of all God has done for you, I am Pleading to with you to give your body over to Him. Let it be a living and Holy sacrifice, the kind that is acceptable.
Paul is pleading for us to Dedicate ourself to God
What is true dedication?
What is true dedication?
a commitment to a task or purpose
In the today’s church commitment is a dangerous word.
Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”
So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “ ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’
‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”
Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Like in () the story of the rich young rule, There are many of us who claim to want to follow Christ but we seem to have commitment issues.
Before we trusted Christ, we used our body for sinful pleasures and purposes, but now that we belong to Him, we want to use our body for His glory.
There are many people who claim to want to follow
We are willing to attend church, come to some programs; even help out a bit since I’m here, but other then that God I am not ready/there yet.
let’s get to the root of the problem we are willing to do the things that God is asking me, as long as He don’t ask me....
as long as He don’t ask me
to do anything that makes me feel uncomfortable
The Christian’s body is God’s temple ()
That interrupts my life or plans
or tries to change me
you know what there are somethings about myself I don’t like you can change that but everything else is okay — because those are my good quality.
say God I willfor now unless something else
instead of just saying I will do this Lord for right unless a better opportunity comes along.
I’m sorry, but that’s not how it works,
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
It is our privilege to glorify Christ in our body and
In order to follow Christ Jesus we must die daily to our own selfish desires and commit ourself to the will and purpose of our Father who is in Heaven.
we must present a living sacrifice that is holy and acceptable to God
(1 sam 15)...
sometimes we want God to take the sacrifice that we want to give Him, but a Holy and acceptable sacrifice to the lord is a sacrifice of obedience.
Roma
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
The world wants to control your mind, but God wants to transform your mind
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,
in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.
But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.
Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,
and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
col 3:1-11
This word transform is the same as transfigure in
It describes a change from within. The world wants to change your mind, so it exerts pressure from without. But the Holy Spirit changes your mind by releasing power from within. If the world controls your thinking, you are a conformer; if God controls your thinking, you are a transformer.
God transforms our minds and makes us spiritually minded by using His Word. As you spend time meditating on God’s Word, memorizing it, and making it a part of your inner man, God will gradually make your mind more spiritual (see ).
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
