In 2019, you won’t change anything in your life if you don’t first change yourself. The new year is as good a time as any to set goals, re-evaluate your life, and start over again. There is something about a new beginning, a reset of time, or a start new count that motivates and reminds us that we can start over. If you are a person interested in your own growth than you also may find you want to improve in 2019 who you were in 2018. And that is awesome, God bless you in your endeavors. I pray as your friend and pastor that God graces you with the strength you need to do and be better in 2019. But before we celebrate on a job well done in for 2019, let me again set the record straight. In 2019, you won’t change anything in your life if you don’t first change yourself.
Every year the phrase “New year new me” is proclaimed by millions of people but I know that all the people who say it will return back to their usual ways by President's Day. So, my sermon is not a statement of goal but a questioning of reality. In this new year am I going in the same person that I was last year, or am I going to enter different than I was? And the change that you make must be centered and focused on who you are as a new creation in Christ Jesus. When you search the scriptures you find that many people in the Bible who went on to do amazing things for God first underwent a transformation. Abram was changed to Abraham. Jacob wrestled with God and became Israel (Run)

If you Know better, do better

You learned Him
Assumption: you heard him, taught in Him
When we are driving to another state we begin by listening to the radio. What happens is once you reach a certain distance what once was a clear sound becomes multiple voices and static. The further away from Oklahoma City means the worse the signal. But, the closer you get to your destination the clearer the signal. But, then there is this other signal called XM, it never fails. It is a direct link to satellite.
Truth is in Jesus.

Former Conduct of the Corrupt Person

Former Conduct-This should go without saying, that the Christian should have a “former life”. As a believer in Christ Jesus, there should be some way of distinguishing who you were and who you are.
Old man is Corrupted- The old person is dying a slow death. There is nothing in this world that that is not corrupted. And anything that is connected to the world and its pattern of lust and deceit is dying with it. In other words the world is a sinking ship and you have three options, sink, swim, or float.

Renewed Mind and a New Person

Renewed mind-Similar to Romans 12
New person
Created in God’s likeness
