Does God really want what is best for me?

Do you believe God wants the best for you? Or for all?
how do we know either way? can we know? I believe through testimony and experiences we can get a pretty good idea. listen to the psalmist
psalm 145
Psalm 145:9 NASB95
9 The Lord is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works.

It doesn’t say He is good to some.

-to the believer and sinner alike.
Matthew 5:44–45 NASB95
44 “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Now back to our lead question.

Does God really want what is best for me?
The key to the question is what is really best for me? Is everything we want good for us? Is everything your child asks for is it good for them? But
Luke 11:9–13 NASB95
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 “For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. 11 “Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? 12 “Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? 13 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
Luke 9
Does God want the best you? He does because he is Good to all.
but as a good parent that does not mean you get what you want, you get what is good and best for you. You receive what He knows will make a difference.
do you remember your parents telling you this is going to hurt me more then it hurts you.
God is this kind of parent but he is so good to us he sent HIs Son into this evil, corrupt world. Because it going to hurt more than it hurt us because he is so good to his creation, his children.
Psalm 34:8 NASB95
8 O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
All that God desires for you is the best, he wants you to know his goodness. As a father I want the best for my kids but I am selfish at times and fail to accomplish this. God in his goodness has never failed to want the best no matter what has happened in this world. From the foundation of the world He has been the same from the day breathed that first breath into Adam and formed Eve from Adams rib.
David understood God’s goodness even though he had failed to be an obedient son. Because God’s goodness is not contingent on our actions. you and I need to know the same truth.
psalm 23:
Psalm 23:6 NASB95
6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
the author of these encouraging words is David. He was aware of his faults but it was good to be aware that God’s goodness continued for him as it is with me even if I have failed him. But because of his goodness we should not be flippant about it. We should not take advantage of God’s goodness, David confessed his unrighteousness, his sin as we should before a good God.
Romans 2:4 NASB95
4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?
but if you want to see the Goodness of God and know that he really wants the best for you. Think for a moment of your week and consider the things you thought and did not say, what you looked at and and did not think twice about, or the way you reacted when someone upset you. You fill in the blank and now listen to the psalmist
psalm 103:8-
Psalm 103:8–13 NASB95
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. 9 He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
What goodness to his children
