The common with other great men, Thomas A. Edison obviously knew the value of the repeated suggestion and made use of it.  When his desk, sealed at his death, was opened February 8, 1947, as a part of the ceremonies celebrating the 100 anniversary of the great inventor’s birth, conspicuous among the articles found in it was a piece of paper which bore the legend, “When down in the mouth, remember Jonah, he came out all right.”  Edison must have though well of that expression and perhaps reflected much upon it; otherwise he would not have kept it on his desk before him.
