James 4:7

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Often when is quoted there is a strong focus on “resist the devil” with little highlighting of “submit to God”.
While this scripture is often used to implore “people” to resist the devil, which is true, it was speaking to greater, poor believer behavior.
However, we all need to learn to resist the devil.
In we find a clear example of how to resist the devil.

Resisting The Devil

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

4 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.

Let God lead you even when it looks like the place he is leading you to is unfruitful.
Immediately after Jesus was baptized he was “led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”
While this scripture is often used to implore “people” to resist the devil, which is true, it was speaking to a greater body.
Check the human desires that can easily lead you into the wrong direction.
What was your most recent victory…you should be on high alert for tempting unless your most recent victory was over the enemy.
Know that who you are does not require you to perform.
Know Gods word for your life.
Don’t lose focus on the real test responding to a quiz.
The cost of elevation is worship…worship in the right direction.
Dismiss anything attempting to lead you away from God.
However, we all need to learn to resist the devil.
In we find a clear example of how to resist the devil.
