Dream...

What am I doing!

CIT: God spoke to Joseph and gave him a dream that he didn’t quite understand until many year later. His dream changed his life…

CIS: God has given each of us a dream but we might know know what it means until we have walked the path.

SO: The hearer will understand to trust God with the dream God has given them and know God has a plan.

Me – putting stamps on post cards as a young boy…given a job to come to find that you missed the mark!

We – live in a world that is flawed, but we serve a God that is flawless…but God chooses to use you and I. Why would he do that? Doesn’t he know that I don’t really know what I am doing!

T.S. - It’s interesting how we see God using people that really don’t have it all together to do amazing things…Billy Graham, Tim Tebow, you & I…we find a story in scripture were God using someone that had no real idea what they were doing.

God Scripture –

tells the story of Joseph the son of Jacob born to Jacob in his old age…not liked by his brothers…nothing like a little brother…we see this boy was a dreamer…

ILL: Odd Dreams…

Cast away by his brothers for a purpose that was only known to God…

Purpose - You have a purpose, we all have a purpose and God gives us our purpose…

Joseph didn’t even understand what as going on, it makes me wonder did Joseph ever ask God why? With out the path he took would Joseph ever made it to becoming second in all of Egypt?

You – One of these three positions: want a dream, have a dream, or had a dream…what does God want me to do, I am stumbling through what God wants me to do, its to late for me…

Prayer conversation with God might look like…?

I didn’t get the promotion, I was not picked for the project lead, they didn’t pick my house for the holiday’s this year…

Simply put I drew the short straw!

ILL: Working in a warehouse for 3 years in the back of semi truck trailers wondering God I thought you called me to preach…? In the middle of the storm of my life I learned to trust God in many hours of pray and listening…God had place a dream in my heart

A statement is made…“I am Joseph!” We are looking a 40 to 45 year old Joseph, 20 - 25 yrs after being sold…age of 17 to this point in Egypt

We –God has given you a dream! For family, career, life and where are you at in that dream? There is a time coming when you will be able to say “I am Joseph!” I know why I have walked the walk that I am walking… Need a Dream, Have a Dream, Had a Dream
