Genesis 2:16–17 ESV
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
The cost of sin was death (separation) to man — spiritual [immediate] and physical [progressive]
Romans 6:23 ESV
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:12 ESV
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—
Strengthening My Foundation: Sin isn’t just a few silly things that we’ve done that can be ignored. Sin is rebellion against God, and it is so serious because of the greatness of the one we are rebelling against.
Blood had to be shed!
Hebrews 9:22 ESV
Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

Ephesians 1:10 ESV
as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
God’s ultimate plan is to bring together — to ultimately resolve — all things in Christ, either through Jesus as a Savior or Jesus as a Judge; this will happen in the fullness of the times.
As the King of kings and the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ will rule this world. Every knee will bow to Him, and all things will be put under His feet. This includes all things both which are in heaven and are on earth. This mysterious plan is that all things will come together in Him.
The Grace New Testament Commentary B. Praise for God’s Spiritual Blessings (1:3–14)

As the King of kings and the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ will rule this world. Every knee will bow to Him, and all things will be put under His feet. This includes all things both which are in heaven and are on earth. This mysterious plan is that all things will come together in Him.
