What’s your prize?
What is the prize you are striving for?
What is the ultimate thing for you to attain?
Philippians 3:12-16
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.

Paul makes it very clear that he has not “attained,” or “perfected” his maturity level in Christ that he desires to have.
None of us have reached that and I have a news flash for you: You won’t reach it on this side of heaven. Please don’t allow that to deter you for striving for it.
Paul continues to strive for his goal. He understands that as long as Christ has a plan for him that he must continue to work for it.
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
Paul knows that he has not arrived yet.
Paul has focused his life down to one thing. “forgetting” the past and “reaching forward” to what God has for him.
How simple would our lives be if we cut it down to one thing?
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Paul is fighting for the prize.
What is your prize?
We see here what the prize must be for all of us… ”the upward call.”
That is God’s heavenly call.
