Introduction- Christianity Beyond Self

Can I be honest for a moment? One of my biggest turn-offs as it relates to modern Christianity is how self-centered it can be at times. From music to even affirmations in worship, there are times when Christianity is promoted as something that only benefits the individual.

For example “Lord, Do it for ME”, or “It’s MY Season to be blessed.” This is not to suggest that you and I cannot make petitions to God on our own behalf but if it’s always about us, then we cheapen what it means to be authentically Christian.
