TITLE; ‘TO DIE IS GAIN’
TEXT: Philippians 1:21
CIT: For Paul, life itself was bound up in Jesus Christ. To die was gain because it meant the beginning of an eternal bliss with Christ in heaven.
It meant the beginning of an eternal bliss with hrist in heaven.
THESIS: For the Christian Death is not an enemy, but a doorway into a wonderful Existence.
Existence.
M/O: Supportive.
S/O: The bereaved will find comfort in the new experience of their deceased loved one.
INTRODUCTION:
Dwight L. Moody once said to his congregation, “One day you will read that D.L. Moody is dead. But don’t you believe it. For in that day, I shall be more alive than I have ever been. I will have moved out of this old clay tenement into a house not made with hands that sin cannot taint, sickness cannot touch, & death cannot destroy.”
Today we come to say “Fair-well” to one that we knew and loved. But in a greater sense, we are here to find comfort and joy in his/her victory. Like Moody, and many others who have died in Christ before Him, death is simply moving from a clay dwelling – cursed with pain and disease, into a new glorified home. Surely as we see this, we find that “to die is gain.”
