Identity of Scripture
A. Breathed Out by God
-Vital to spend time in Scripture because it is the Word of God.

2. Engagement of Scripture
A. Scripture Reading
-Relationship/Communion with God
-Encounter the full story of Scripture (Book Level & Whole Bible Level)
-Scripture reading must deepen to Scripture Study
B. Scripture Study
-Example of challenge to break down
-To use Scripture to teach, reproof, or correct; we need to dig deep to know & study God’s Word.
-To teach, we must know the Scriptures ourselves to be effective.
C. Scripture Memory
-Scripture Memory allows us to know God’s words in ways other methods cannot.
-Helps fight temptation
Psalm 119:11 ESV
I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
3. Effects of Scripture
A. Reproof & Correction
-not simply reading or studying but allowing Scripture to change our thoughts and life
John 8:32 ESV
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:32 ESV
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
-To be in God’s will, we have no choice but to be in His Word.
B. Growing in Righteousness
-Training Manual- Workplace Example
-Unlike workplace or business manuals, we can never know Scripture completely, so we must continue to always learn and grow
