Not exhaustive

If you’re a believer in Christ, you have gifts

Not salvation, but shows your salvation

Not learned skills, but skillful

Not earned, but given by the Spirit

Not for yourself, but for serving God

Not signs of maturity, but you can’t be mature without using them

Everyone is gifted by the Spirit

Probably have 2-3 major ones

1 . Other Languages

Church in Corinth believed this was the best gift and meant spiritual maturity/superiority, but it was not

So then, tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.

Incredible Irony. People deceived by a false teacher claiming miracles which aren’t happening, and then a hopeless boy wants healing and Martin protects himself by saying the crowd doesn’t have enough faith.

Then a miracle happens that is not connected to Steve Martin

Martin leaves the ministry because he finally realizes God is real and does not want to use God’s miracle to endorse a lie that Martin has created.

Human tendency to want to use God and His power for our own benefit

Spiritual gifts are for the Church and not for our own pride

But His empowerment is to give God’s love and use the spiritual gifts He’s given

Don’t wonder what others have or be discontent

We must depend on Him and His Word, not on grasping after authority that is not ours

Incredibly encouraging that equipping is not hinged on us

Your spiritual gifts don’t depend on how much faith you have, but if you have faith

Your spiritual maturity depends on how much faith you have! Therefore, obey
